The defender missed the start of the season with a serious knee problem sustained midway through last season.

And Pochettino says Rose is completing part of his recovery programme at the national football centre, in Burton.

‘He is doing his rehab in St George’s Park until last week. I hope he can be back in next weeks,’ said Pochettino.

‘The players always need some time to change.’
