Carlos Tevez has been back out on the training pitch with his new Boca Juniors team-mates after arriving 'home' for a third spell at his boyhood club.

The Argentina legend, now 33, began his career at Boca before moving on in 2005, but he returned for a second spell in 2015.

The money of China came calling shortly after, but Tevez has now cut short his time at Shanghai Shenhua to return to the country of his birth for a third time.

He was unveiled with the number 32 shirt on Tuesday, before heading out to the training pitches in Buenos Aires with his new team-mates.

Fans watching from behind a fence at the side of the complex were treated to selfies with the club legend, who has made over 150 appearances for Boca Juniors.

Tevez was on big money in the Chinese Super League, but a series of on and off-field issues ensured he did not stay the course in Asia.

At one point, he angered the Chinese footballing authorities when he claimed football in Asia is lagging half a century behind.

He said: 'In South America and Europe, players learn to play football when they're kids, but not here. So technically they are not very good.

'Their football is very different. The fans treat it very differently as well. And I don't think they are going to get to the same heights, not even in 50 years.'

He made just 20 appearances, scoring four goals, before securing a return to Argentina for the next part of his impressive career.

Following his arrival back at Boca, the club tweeted 'Tevez has come home' alongside images of him working out with team-mates in the gym.

The striker turns 34 next month, but was straight into pre-season training at the Los Cardales complex with his colleagues on Tuesday.
