Arsenal are put through their paces ahead of Burnley clash as Jack Wilshere pushes for first league start of the season at Turf Moor

Arsenal's stars kept warm as they trained at their chilly London Colney base on Saturday afternoon ahead of their upcoming clash with Burnley.

The Gunners put the finishing touches on their preparations for the trip to Turf Moor on Sunday as manager Arsene Wenger watched on. 

Out-of-contract duo Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil trained alongside their team-mates while Jack Wilshere was also present as he pushes for a first league start of the campaign.

The likes of Hector Bellerin, Granit Xhaka, Aaron Ramsey, Alexandre Lacazette and Laurent Koscielny were all put through their paces as Arsenal bid to secure their just their second away win of the campaign. 


Wilshere admitted on Friday he might need to leave the Emirates for regular football if he is to seal a place in England's World Cup squad for Russia 2018. 

The midfielder is out of contract in the summer and has yet to start a league game this season despite impressing in the Europa League and Carabao Cup.

'I think we will have to talk about that,' Wilshere said when asked if he would consider leaving in January to resurrect his World Cup chances.

'We have got a month until then and me and the boss will probably have a conversation before then and see what happens because obviously when January comes I have only got six months left on my contract.

'We will see what happens between now and then, I will talk to the boss.

'We have known each other for long enough and we have a good relationship where we can be honest with each other so I'm sure we will be and then we will go from there'.

The Arsenal boss was forced to deny Ozil had already signed a pre-contract agreement with Barcelona with the German's deal set to expire at the end of the season. 

Arsenal are looking to bounce back from a disappointing result last time out which saw them lose 1-0 in the Europa League against Cologne on Thursday.

Wenger's men beat Tottenham at home in the north London derby last weekend in the league thanks to goals from Shkodran Mustafi and Sanchez. 

The manager will have almost a full-strength squad to choose from against Burnley with Danny Welbeck in contention having recovered from a recent groin problem. Santi Cazorla remains the only absentee with a long-term ankle injury. 

Arsenal sit sixth in the Premier League table after seven wins, one draw and four defeats from their 12 fixtures so far.
