Former Aston Villa boss Remi Garde has been appointed as head coach of MLS side Montreal Impact.
The 51-year-old, who played for Arsenal between 1996 and 1999, had been out of work since leaving Villa by mutual consent in March 2016.
'We are very happy and proud that Remi Garde is joining the Montreal Impact,' president Joey Saputo said in a statement.

'As player, assistant coach and head coach, he excelled by demonstrating his qualities as a leader and his knowledge of the game.
'His vision and his experience, also in the development of young players, will allow us to continue to improve our methods and work process at the academy. It really is a fresh start on many levels.'
Garde's spell at Villa was disastrous, as they won just three of his 23 games in charge on their way to relegation from the Premier League with just 16 points.
