The Liverpool defender is poised to make his international bow in the coming days after he earned his first senior call-up for the prestige friendlies against Germany and Brazil.
The Anfield club paid £3.5million to sign Gomez from the Addicks in 2015 in a deal that was viewed as a major coup given his standing as one of the brightest youngsters in the country.

Sportsmail can reveal the deal included an additional payment once 20-year-old Gomez starts his first England international.
Gomez has been a regular at right back for Liverpool this season in the absence of the injured Nathaniel Clyne.
He has made 12 appearances this season, including eight starts in the Premier League and facing Sevilla in the Champions League, where he was sent off.
