18:29
Everton 3-2 Watford

Watford looked shot to pieces before they are handed a lifeline as Jordan Pickford brought down Richarlison.

But Tom Cleverley steps up against his former club, only to choke and drag his awful penalty wide. Just two minutes of stoppage time remain.

18:19
GOAL! EVERTON 3-2 Watford

Good news for Everton! Leighton Baines has fired the Toffees in front at the start of stoppage time with that penalty.

The bad news for Toffees fans is following Gomes's injury there will be TWELVE minutes added on.

18:18
PENALTY (Everton)

Jose Holebas is penalised for a trip on Aaron Lennon.

18:16
Chelsea 1-0 Manchester United

It's got desperate for Manchester United who are pumping long balls into the Chelsea box but it nearly produces an equaliser!

Fellaini brings down an Eric Bailly pass with his chest before his effort is beaten away by Courtois.

There will be four added minutes at Stamford Bridge.

18:14
Chelsea 1-0 Manchester United

Final change for Chelsea as Eden Hazard is applauded off the pitch by Blues fans before he is kicked off it by United players as Willian replaces him. Three minutes left.

18:12
Chelsea 1-0 Manchester United

Is Herrera lucky to stay on the field here? The midfielder has already been booked for one lunge on Hazard, but a similar foul on the Belgian only results in a free-kick.

Chelsea remain very comfortable with five minutes to play. United have regressed as this half has gone on.

18:08
Chelsea 1-0 Manchester United

Changes from both teams as Lingard replaces Ashley Young, while Chelsea send on Danny Drinkwater for Cesc Fabregas.

18:03
GOAL! EVERTON 2-2 Watford

Who knows where this Everton character has come from but they have come from 2-0 down to level the score with Dominic Calvert-Lewin pouncing with 17 minutes left. More than enough time for a Toffees winner now too...

18:03
Chelsea 1-0 Manchester United

As United continue to toil, Mourinho is turning towards Plan C as he exchanges words with Jesse Lingard on the bench who has gone to warm up.

Meanwhile Hazard's 20-yard effort is well stopped by De Gea.

18:02
Chelsea 1-0 Manchester United

We are into the final 15 minutes at Stamford Bridge and Fellaini has been hopeless since he has come on. The Belgian has been booked and clumsily given the ball away twice, the latest releasing Bakayoko in on the counter attack before he scuffs well off target.

17:56
GOAL! EVERTON 1-2 Watford

But wait there is hope for the Toffees as Oumar Niasse beats Karnezis to the ball before prodding home.

Still well over 20 minutes plus a hefty chunk of stoppage time in that match following Gomes's injury.

17:56
GOAL! Everton 0-2 WATFORD

Goodness me what is going on at Everton. Watford double their lead as Christian Kabasele rises highest to meet a corner at Goodison.

17:56
Chelsea 1-0 Manchester United

The Blues in response also make a switch as Antonio Rudiger replaces Davide Zappacosta. United seeing more of the ball but sadly for them, Thibaut Courtois isn't. Chelsea defending well.

17:50
Chelsea 1-0 Manchester United

No sign at all of any fightback from Manchester United as Jose Mourinho makes a double change. On come Marouane Fellaini and Anthony Martial as the anonymous Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Phil Jones depart.

Chelsea's Alvaro Morata (right) scores his side's first goal with a towering header

17:49
Everton 0-1 Watford

Meanwhile we have had a lengthy stoppage at Goodison after Heurelho Gomes picked up a head injury seconds after superbly parrying away a 10-yard Gylfi Sigurdsson effort.

Following treatment which has seen a bandage placed around his head, he has been replaced by Orestis Karnezis who is making his Hornets debut.

17:40
GOAL! CHELSEA 1-0 Manchester United

Brilliant goal from Chelsea, who have looked dangerous at the start of this second half. Cesar Azpilicueta pings a perfectly weighted cross into the box for Alvaro Morata, who hammers a header past a helpless David de Gea.

17:38
Chelsea 0-0 Manchester United

No chances at Stamford Bridge, just yellow cards as Ander Herrera is booked for a sly stamp on Eden Hazard's ankle.

17:34
GOAL! Everton 0-1 WATFORD

And straight from kick-off - less than 30 seconds in fact - Watford lead! Andre Gray picks out Richarlison who takes the ball past Jordan Pickford before stroking into the bottom corner.

17:16
HALF-TIME: Chelsea 0-0 Manchester United
Manchester United keeper David de Gea punches clear following a Chelsea attack
17:16
Everton 0-0 Watford

Chances have all but dried up at the Bridge, as Jordan Pickford saves well from a 20-yard Abdoulaye Doucoure drive.

17:12
From Sportsmail's Dominic King at the Goodison Park

'It’s a struggle to recall a game when Goodison Park was this flat and quiet and the atmosphere is reflective of Everton’s performance: nervy and lacking belief.

'The aim here is to grind out a 1-0 win but the lack of options Everton have up front is crippling them. Watford look like they are one counterattack away from sending the home crowd into meltdown.'

17:11
Chelsea 0-0 Manchester United

Now that is a good Chelsea chance! Cesc Fabregas whips in a superb corner towards the edge of the six yard box but despite attacking it with plenty of power, Andreas Christensen can only turn it over the crossbar.

17:09
Chelsea 0-0 Manchester United

Another routine stop from De Gea who denies Davide Zappacosta at the near post following the Chelsea full-back's weak effort.

17:07
Everton 0-0 Watford

As the action dies down at the Stamford Bridge, time for a Goodison update.

In comparison to the last few matches it's actually going rather well for Everton, who have controlled large parts of this contest and looked confident in taking the game to Watford. David Unsworth will be impressed with his side so far.

Tom Cleverley (left) of Watford tackles Gylfi Sigurdsson of Everton at Goodison Park
17:03
Chelsea 0-0 Manchester United

A half-chance but nothing more for Chelsea. Fabregas picks out Morata on the edge of the box but Chris Smalling stands up well to the striker whose low shot is weak and straight at De Gea.

16:59
Chelsea 0-0 Manchester United

Meanwhile at the Bridge we have departed the 1990s and appear to be back in the modern day as Chelsea try to find a way past a defensive minded Manchester United.

As you might expect, the Red Devils are standing quite firm and resolute right now.

16:56
Everton 0-0 Watford

Meanwhile across the country it also remains goalless as Wayne Rooney squares a pass for Leighton Baines who sees his effort from inside the box beaten away by Heurelho Gomes. Good stop from the Watford keeper.

16:53
Chelsea 0-0 Manchester United

Jones has been in the wars so far and is brought down again, this time by Bakayoko who picks up the game's first yellow card.

16:50
Chelsea 0-0 Manchester United

Another minute, another chance. David de Gea rather weakly parries away a stinging 20-yard Eden Hazard effort before Cesc Fabregas headers the follow up wide at the near post and into the side netting.

16:48
Chelsea 0-0 Manchester United

This is like a Premier League match from the mid-1990s. End-to-end stuff. Romelu Lukaku spins Andreas Christensen on the edge of the box but his follow up strike with his left foot is excellently parried away by Thibaut Courtois,

16:46
From Sportsmail's Kieran Gill at Stamford Bridge

'Manchester United already more attacking than they were at Anfield in October.

'Debate in press box – push on Phil Jones soft?'

16:45
Chelsea 0-0 Manchester United

What a start to this match. Surely the teams cannot keep this up as Bakayoko fires narrowly wide of the target from 25 yards - even if De Gea looked like he had it covered.

Tiemoue Bakayoko of Chelsea puts pressure on Nemanja Matic of Manchester United
16:44
Chelsea 0-0 Manchester United

Another chance at the Bridge! It's back to the Manchester United penalty area again as a cross somehow squirms its way through the United defence to Tiemoue Bakayoko at the backpost who, with a blue rinse hairstyle similar to what your eccentric grandmother might get, clumsily fires well off target. Should score.

16:41
From former Premier League referee and Sportsmail's Graham Poll

'Morata looks to have just clipped Jones heel and put him off balance before he smashed the ball in for an own goal.  Taylor rightly disallowed the goal; a small foul is still a foul.'

...and that's told me.

Chelsea's Alvaro Morata (left) was penalised for a push on Manchester United's Phil Jones
16:40
Chelsea 0-0 Manchester United

Chance for United! A far post cross picks out Marcus Rashford but with his eyes shut he can only head over the crossbar.

16:39
Chelsea 0-0 Manchester United

Cheers erupt from inside Stamford Bridge as Alvaro Morata gets on the end of a Marcos Alonso cross to fire past David de Gea, but the goal is ruled out for the striker's slight push on Phil Jones.

Looks very soft I might say, I think Jones might have had a lucky escape there.

16:34
Chelsea 0-0 Manchester United

Early sighter for Chelsea as N'Golo Kante collects a squared pass from Cesc Fabregas before his low shot is comfortably stopped by David de Gea who dives to his left.

16:33
From Sportsmail's Kieran Gill at Stamford Bridge

'Impeccable minute's silence. David Luiz is sat with the Chelsea squad on the bench, dressed in normal clothes. Not in the squad today.'

16:30

Just like at Wembley Stadium and the Etihad Stadium earlier, there is a minute silence observed ahead of Remembrance Sunday at both games.

From Sportsmail's Kieran Gill at Stamford Bridge

'Looking forward to watching Chris Smalling's attempts at passing it out from the back, in a bid to prove Gareth Southgate wrong.

Full-time report

MARTIN SAMUEL'S MATCH REPORT FROM THE ETIHAD STADIUM: It is just like they tell you in school. 'Don't play to the whistle,' the sports teacher says. 'Just stand in the middle with your hand in the air, as the game goes on around you. It's bound to work out in your favour.' And so it was that Arsenal lost to Manchester City.

At the time of the third goal, the game was – somehow – in the balance. City had been the better side, but Arsenal had stuck in there and benefitted from the introduction of a £50m striker in Alexandre Lacazette

One might have thought, for that money, he was exactly the sort of player Arsenal would need against the Premier League's best team – but he started on the substitutes bench. Introduced, he provided the cutting edge Arsenal had been missing, albeit now 2-0 down.

Kante returns to the starting XI

There is no David Luiz in the match day squad but key player N'Golo Kante returns to Chelsea's starting XI.

The Frenchman has spent a lengthy spell on the sidelines nursing a hamstring injury that he sustained on international duty last month.

And Antonio Conte will be glad to see him return for the Blues who have not been in great form of late. Perhaps the diminutive midfielder could prove the difference today.

Antonio Conte continues war of words with Jose Mourinho

ROB DRAPER: Antonio Conte has hit back at Jose Mourinho by saying that Chelsea's title win last season was a 'miracle' given that he had more or less the same players who had finished 10th the season before, under Mourinho.

Conte has insisted that the rebuilding job after Mourinho's departure – he was sacked in December 2015, half way through the season in which the club finished 10th – is still underway.

And the Chelsea manager, who faces Mourinho's United on Sunday, also says that he has told owner Roman Abramovich the truth about where the clubs stands and how long it will take to revive it.

Gary Neville blasts Chelsea for poor mentality

GLENN WILLIAMS: Manchester United icon and Sky Sports pundit believes Chelsea have displayed a worrying change of mentality after they won the Premier League last season.

The former defender blasted the English champions, claiming that their form is part of a larger, deep-rooted problem that rears its head whenever the Blues lift the trophy.

The Old Trafford icon found it staggering that Chelsea took their foot off the gas this summer and feels that lack of signings is an inexcusable reason for their lacklustre start to the campaign.
