The 30-year-old ruffled the feathers of Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos during Wednesday's 3-1 win over the European champions at Wembley.
He was booked for a wild challenge which saw him kick Ramos high on the shin.
Moments earlier Dembele had caught the defender's face with a flailing arm before the pair squared up to one another.
This was not the first time Dembele has got involved in an unsavoury confrontation with a controversial Spain international. In May 2016 he gouged the eye of Chelsea striker Diego Costa - an act which earned him a six-match ban.
Dembele has not started a Premier League game since August but he is in contention to make the first XI on Sunday when Spurs host Crystal Palace.
