That wraps up our coverage for the evening...

Job done for Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City, in a fantastic week for Premier League clubs in the Champions League. I include Chelsea in that too given Atletico Madrid's European collapse in their group.

But it doesn't stop there. Tomorrow Arsenal and Everton are in Europa League action so make sure you check back to see if the feel good factor extends to Europe's secondary competition. Thanks for following and cheerio.

And who saw this coming. In a group containing Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund, Tottenham Hotspur have booked a last-16 spot with two matches still to be played.

Dortmund's poor draw with APOEL means there is consolation for Madrid who can now progress providing they defeat the Cypriot side in their next Champions League encounter.

Nothing confirmed for Liverpool but after a slow start Jurgen Klopp's side have now taken control of Group E and can progress to the last-16 in their next match if they beat Sevilla.

Even Maribor have the slimmest of chances of still reaching the last-16 - so all to play for!

You'd be amazed to think Liverpool put seven past Maribor a fortnight ago. Heading towards half-time, the ball finds Mohamed Salah on the edge of the box but the forward blasts way, way over the bar. Dreadful shot.

Superb football from Napoli, and this goal has been coming. Lorenzo Insigne combines with Mertens for a one-two, with the former darting inside the box before converting from an acute angle. Liquid football as a certain Alan Partridge might call it.

Well, what a response from Shakhtar Donetsk. Their reply to going a goal down is to hit back with two strikes as Marlos finds the top corner with a cracking strike from the edge of the box.

20:03
Napoli 0-0 Manchester City

Good chance for Napoli - the best of the game so far - but Dries Mertens doesn't do enough to trouble Ederson as the hosts start to take control.

We finally have goals. Feyenoord have to win to keep their Champions League hopes alive and they take the lead through a Nicolai Jorgensen... only for Newcastle United flop Facundo Ferreyra to equalise moments later for Shakhtar Donetsk.

Porto are also in front against RE Leipzig with Hector Herrera drilling home from inside the box. Three quick strikes in succession there.

19:56
Liverpool 0-0 Maribor

Liverpool's work is already cut out for them. A Maribor flat back five is supported by four compact defensive midfielders in what is universal language for 'come and break us down if you can'.

So far Liverpool can't but it's still early days of course.

Alberto Moreno (right) of Liverpool attempts to get past Dino Hotic of Maribor
19:52
Napoli 0-0 Manchester City

A rather even encounter in Italy so far, as Marek Hamsik lets fly with a 30-yard effort that although has plenty of power is also straight at Ederson. Easy take for the Manchester City keeper.

19:48
Napoli 0-0 Manchester City

Weird scenes at the San Paolo. The bottom tier is looking quite deserted, but the atmosphere considering that is quite incredible as Leroy Sane's shot from the edge of the box is blocked by a Napoli defender.

Chelsea's Italian job didn't go quite so well yesterday

But how will Manchester City get on this evening when they travel to Napoli with a chance to seal progression from the Champions League group stage?

Having not lost a game all season confidence will be high, but will it be enough to stop a Napoli side and their highly partisan fan base at the Stadio San Paolo?

Good evening all and welcome to Sportsmail's live coverage of this evening's UEFA Champions League matches.

Manchester City are on the cusp of reaching the UEFA Champions League last-16 when they visit Napoli, as a draw would be good enough to progress for Pep Guardiola's side.

But fellow Premier League outfit Liverpool still have some way to go before thinking about European football after Christmas, as they host a Maribor team with a view to three points and taking charge of a tightly contested Group E.

Follow action from both games and the rest of Europe's drama as it happens.
