Sam Allardyce has stated his interest in becoming Everton's next manager and would relish the chance to 'put the team back together'.
Everton are continuing to take their time in finding Ronald Koeman's permanent successor and David Unsworth will see out the next two games before the international break.
They are considering their options, with Burnley boss Sean Dyche and Marco Silva of Watford amongst the candidates, but Allardyce is attracted to the idea of working at Goodison Park.

Allardyce has been out of football since helping Crystal Palace avoid relegation last season
Allardyce has had opportunities to go back to work since leaving Crystal Palace earlier this year but none have had the appeal of Everton.
They are in the bottom three after a dreadful start to the campaign but Allardyce believes he has the expertise to take them away from trouble.
'Who knows? I'd have to consider that, if that phone call happens, said Allardyce. 'There's no point in speculating at the moment, David Unsworth is in the chair.
'Joe (Royle) sat upstairs will have an opinion but at the moment it looks like it's really going to be tough for Everton to get out of that position.'
He has never been relegated from the Premier League despite managing six different clubs
Everton - who lost 2-0 to Leicester - are currently in a relegation battle, sitting 18th in the table
Speaking to beIN Sports, Allardyce added: 'They know what the problems are. They just perhaps want a bit of guidance now to rectify those problems.
'I've been in this position a number of times in the last three clubs I've had and I just put the team back to basics.'
Everton face Lyon in the Europa League on Thursday. Should they lose, they will be eliminated with two games of the group stage to go.
Unsworth is considering making significant changes to his team for that clash in France, given how important next Sunday's home date with Watford has become.
