- Crystal Palace are preparing for a busy January transfer window
- Roy Hodgson's side are rooted at the bottom of the league with one win in nine
- Dougie Freedman was hired as the club's sporting director back in August
Crystal Palace have already started on their strategy for January with Roy Hodgson believing it will be vital if they are to pull themselves out of the Premier League abyss.
Hodgson has said Dougie Freedman, who was hired as sporting director in August while Frank de Boer was still in charge, is working on targets and transfers.
Turkish striker Cenk Tosun of Besiktas is among their top targets with the 26-year-old valued at around £20million.

Roy Hodgson is desperate for reinforcements to save the London club's season
Asked if Palace's heavy Carabao Cup defeat by Championship Bristol City showed how he has to spend in January, Hodgson said: 'The only honest and fair answer to that is yes.
'I think Doug Freedman, since he was brought into the club a couple of weeks before they brought me in, has been working on that.
'He is working on meeting with our current scouting set-up and people we use.
'He's starting to collate information they've obviously been collecting for other managers then he intends to sit down with me and the owners of the club and we'll see what is possible to do.
'But yes, the January transfer window will be an important transfer window. Not just for Crystal Palace, but also probably for another half dozen clubs who like ourselves, find themselves staring at the abyss that relegation these days is.'
The Turkish striker scored 24 times in 46 appearances for Besiktas last season
