Motherwell boss Stephen Robinson facing prospect of touchline ban for Celtic showdown following Pedro Caixinha dispute
- Stephen Robinson was sent to the stands during Motherwell's win over Rangers
- He argued with Rangers boss Pedro Caixinha following Ryan Bowman's tackle
- He may have to sit in the stand for the final against Celtic on November 26
Motherwell manager Stephen Robinson is facing the very real prospect of a Hampden touchline ban following his dismissal in the Betfred Cup semi-final.
It is understood Rangers manager Pedro Caixinha will be offered a one-match ban following the pair's dismissal on Sunday, but Robinson will have to wait to learn his fate at a hearing.
The Northern Irishman has previously been punished by the Scottish Football Association and that could be taken into account when setting any potential sanctions.

With a date for a hearing not yet set, Robinson could find himself the victim of bad timing and be forced to sit in the stand for the final against Celtic on November 26.
The 42-year-old was ordered to the stand by referee Steven McLean in the second half after arguing with Caixinha as the Rangers boss called for the referee to send off Ryan Bowman following a clash with Fabio Cardoso.
While working as Motherwell's assistant boss, Robinson was hit with a three-match SFA ban in May 2016 after being sent to the stand against Aberdeen at Pittodrie moments after Keith Lasley received a red card.
On that occasion he was reported for "repeatedly adopting aggressive behaviour towards the fourth official, and repeatedly using offensive, abusing and insulting language".
SFA compliance officer Tony McGlennan has taken no action against Motherwell striker Bowman and Rangers defender Cardoso for separate elbow incidents during Motherwell's 2-0 victory, deeming both to be "reckless" rather than serious foul play. However, Rangers defender Bruno Alves has been cited for kicking out at Louis Moult, with the Ibrox club challenging his two-match ban.
