That's a wrap

That's it for our afternoon updates on what has been a famous day for Huddersfield Town.

They have beaten Manchester United for the first time in 65 years and issued a major blow to Jose Mourinho's title charge.

Manchester City now top the table by five point following their victory over Burnley.

You can red full reports from all this afternoon's action below. Thanks for joining as, see you soon.

This afternoon's full-times

Huddersfield 2-1 Manchester United
Manchester City 3-0 Burnley
Newcastle 1-0 Crystal Palace
Stoke 1-2 Bournemouth
Swansea 1-2 Leicester City

16:54

Andrew Surman and Junior Stanislas both got on the scoresheet to help Eddie Howe's side record their first Premier League away victory of the season.

Stoke boss Mark Hughes insisted during the week his side were not in dire straits this season but they were quickly in this one as the away side raced into a two-goal lead.

Surman opened the scoring in the 16th minute before Stanislas doubled their advantage just two minutes later from the penalty spot after a rusty-looking Ryan Shawcross brought down Benik Afobe.

Stoke came out a different side in the second half and finally breached the Bournemouth defence in the 63rd minute with Mame Biram Diouf turning in after a long ball forward fell to him in the box.

They had more opportunities to draw level but failed to take them as the away side stayed firm to go home with all three points.

Manchester City extended their lead at the top of the Premier League as another impressive display from Kevin De Bruyne inspired them to 3-0 victory over Burnley at the Etihad.

Sergio Aguero opened the scoring for Pep Guardiola's side from the penalty spot after Nick Pope was controversially adjudged to have brought down Bernardo Silva after half an hour.

The league leaders had to wait until seventeen minutes from time to add to their lead, when Nicolas Otamendi headed home De Bruyne's corner. And two minutes later the Belgium international played a pin-point through ball to Leroy Sane, whose assured finish means City now sit five points clear of rivals Manchester United.

Substitute Mikel Merino struck late on to break Palace hearts and ensure Newcastle continued their impressive start to the Premier League season.

Palace looked to be on the way to their first league clean sheet under the stewardship of Roy Hodgson, but Merino rose highest at a late corner to ensure the Toon took all three points.

The result ensures Palace stay rock bottom of the league on just one point, while Newcastle rise to sixth after four wins in their opening nine matches.

Manchester United suffered a shock defeat as Huddersfield Town held on in the rain brought by Storm Brian following two goals in four first half minutes.

Aaron Mooy scored on the rebound just before the half hour mark following a David de Gea save, before Laurent Depoitre rounded the United keeper after Victor Lindelof missed a simple defensive header.

Half-time sub Marcus Rashford scored a header with 12 minutes to go as United cranked up the pressure, but the Terriers held on for an impressive win, their first over the Red Devils since 1952.

Michael Appleton made a winning start as Leicester City caretaker manager on Saturday by picking up three Premier League points at Swansea's Liberty Stadium.

The Foxes were helped on their way to victory - which sees them exit the relegation zone - by a Federico Fernandez own goal.

16:48
Four minutes added on at the John Smith's Stadium

Hudderfield have not beaten United since 1952... they are within touching distance now

16:47
United still pushing

An escape for United as De Gea is confused by Rajiv van la Parra's run through, but the Spaniard is able to recover, collect the ball and send United off on an attack.

Not long left now.

16:44
GOAL! Newcastle 1-0 Crystal Palace (Merino)

Matt Ritchie with the corner and Merino rises superbly to power his header right into the middle of the goal. Speroni had no chance.

Will that be enough to win it for the Magpies?

16:41
Rashford gets United back in it

But the Red Devils have just 10 minutes to find an equaliser

16:37
GOAL Huddersfield 2-1 Manchester United (Rashford 78)

It's brilliant from Lukaku as he turns his man on halfway, drives all the way to the byline, cuts back and crosses right onto the head of Rashford who heads home.

Game on!

16:35
GOAL! Manchester City 3-0 Burnley

De Bruyne is the architect as he worked the ball inside but it's Sane who has scored it, forcing the ball home.

Are the floodgates open?

16:34
GOAL! Manchester City 2-0 Burnley

Sane and Aguero should both maybe have put City 2-0 up... but minutes later Nicolas Otamendi did as he nodded the ball down and the ball somehow ended up in the back of the net.

16:32
Less than 20 minutes to go in all our games
16:31
Still no way through for United

United are well on top in this second half but can't force any kind of save from Lossl in the Huddersfield goal.

They did just create a chance, with Lukaku sent towards goal but he was unable to stretch and reach it.

The John Smith's Stadium is rocking
16:22
GOAL! Stoke 1-2 Bournemouth

It's Diouf who has scored it, his third in three games, and Stoke are back in it. The ball was played into the box and he's put it into the back of the net.

16:19
As it stands

Huddersfield 2-0 Manchester United
Manchester City 1-0 Burnley
Newcastle 0-0 Crystal Palace
Stoke 0-2 Bournemouth
Swansea 1-2 Leicester City

16:19
United's reinforcements can't find a way through

It's not Manchester United's day at all, with neither Rashford or Mkhitaryan able to spark anything.

They've just swing a free-kick into the box which Herrera turned wide but he had already been flagged offside.

16:16
A quick visit to the bet365

JANINE SELF: Stoke are doing what you might expect after 15 minutes of listening to the searing words of their manager - making a fist of it. Joe Allen's scuffed an effort just wide and there is a small head of steam being built. Bournemouth need to show what they are made of...

16:16
GOAL Swansea 1-2 Leicester (Mawson 56)

The central defender gets his side back in it

16:14
More on Leicester's second

ADAM SHERGOLD: Just four minutes into the second-half and Leicester have a second goal. Excellent work by Marc Albrighton, who advance down the left and picked out Riyad Mahrez at the back post with a pinpoint ball.

Mahrez was just about onside and passed the ball across so Shinji Okazaki could tap in. All a little too easy for them and a long way back for Swansea from here.

16:09
United changes

Swift action from Mourinho at the break with Martial and Mata hauled off and replaced by Mkhitaryan and Rashford.

16:06
GOAL! Swansea 0-2 Leicester

Albrighton clips the ball to Mahrez at the back post who cushions to Okazaki for the Japanese to tap the ball in. Appeals for offside but the goal stands.

16:04
Games starting to kick off now across the Premier League

What will the second half bring?

As things stand, Manchester City are five points clear at the top of the table.

15:58
And he should be worried...

History is not on the United boss's side

15:53
Mourinho is not happy

Oh what we would give to overhear what's going on in the United dressing room.

15:52
And here are the half-time scores

Huddersfield 2-0 Manchester United
Manchester City 1-0 Burnley
Newcastle 0-0 Crystal Palace
Stoke 0-2 Bournemouth
Swansea 0-1 Leicester City

15:51
HT: Stoke 0-2 Bournemouth
15:50
HT: Newcastle United 0-0 Crystal Palace

The visitors on top but neither side has been able to make a breakthrough.

15:50
HT: Huddersfield 2-0 Manchester United

So much work to do for United who trail be two at the break. They had a great chance to halve that deficit before the break but Nemanja Matic shot wide.

15:49
HT: Manchester City 1-0 Burnley

JOE BERNSTEIN AT THE ETIHAD STADIUM: Burnley won't feel they have had the rub of the green here and Dyche is in the fourth official's ear at every opportunity. They feel aggrieved at the penalty award for Aguero's goal, a foul against Arfield when he could have scored and a bad foul on Brady by Fernandinho.

15:47
HT: Swansea 0-1 Leicester City
15:46
Janine Self at the bet365 Stadium

Stoke playing a bit better as the game edges towards half-time and creating the odd chance. Guessing Mark Hughes will have a thing or two to say

15:45
City still lead 1-0 heading into half-time
15:43
What a trio

CRAIG HOPE: Gareth Southgate is here at St James' Park today, sat behind Jimmy Nail and Sting.

15:40
A look at Fernandez's own goal at Swansea

ADAM SHERGOLD: A breakthrough here and it’s all Leicester deserve considering their bright start to the game.

It was all down to the persistence of Riyad Mahrez who chased down a ball that looked destined to go out for a goal kick, kept it alive despite Swansea protests that it’d crossed the line (it hadn’t) and looked to cross.

His delivery was intended for Jamie Vardy but Federico Fernandez did the job for him, heading past his own keeper.

15:37
As it stands

Huddersfield 2-0 Manchester United
Manchester City 1-0 Burnley
Newcastle 0-0 Crystal Palace
Stoke 0-2 Bournemouth
Swansea 0-1 Leicester City

15:37
Penalty shouts for United

Herrera goes down under a challenge from Kachunga but the referee waves away the penalty appeals. United a little unlucky there, possibly, and they have a LOT of work to do.

15:35
GOAL! Huddersfield 2-0 Manchester City (Depoitre)

And's 2-0 to the Terriers and a nightmare for Lindelof. His missed header lets Depoitre in and he slots past De Gea. Oh dear, Jose.

15:34
GOAL! Manchester City 1-0 Burnley (Aguero)

Aguero makes no mistake from the penalty spot as he puts the ball into the back of the net to level City's scoring record. It's controversial, though, with Bernardo Silva being felled by Pope. Replays show it might have been a dive.

15:30
Cabaye lucky to still be on the field

Yohan Cabaye should really be on his way back to the dressing room after a really poor tackle on Yedlin. He flew in with two feets in a scissor motion, chopping the Magpies man down. He gets a yellow.

15:28
GOAL! Huddersfield 1-0 Manchester United (Mooy)

Huddersfield 1-0 Manchester United: And it's Aaron Mooy with a superb finish as he gets himself in a perfect position for a ball which comes out to him in the box. He picks his spot, left-footed, and fires into the net.

15:26
GOAL! Swansea 0-1 Leicester (Federico Fernandez og, 25)

It's been a tough week for Leicester, following the departure of Craig Shakespeare, but there's some good news as Fernandez puts into his own net. Not good news for Fernandez and Swansea, though.

15:23
But there's bad news for United

JACK GAUGHAN: Awful news for Phil Jones, who's being forced off here with what looks like a groin problem. Every time he's looking good... Lindelof coming on.

15:23
Not too much going on at Huddersfield

Young's cross is cleared out to the edge of the box where Herrera is waiting, but he can't test Lossl in the Huddersfield goal.

15:20
Leicester on top in south Wales

ADAM SHERGOLD: Paul Clement did warn there could be a Leicester backlash following this week’s events and they’ve certainly been the better side so far and would be ahead but for Lukasz Fabianski in the Swansea goal.

Inside the first minute, he pushed away Shinji Okazaki’s flick-header from Marc Albrighton’s cross and then roles were reversed as Okazaki teed up Albrighton 10 yards out. His shot was well-struck but Fabianski made a superb one-handed save.

15:19
Around the grouds

Here's where we're at right now.

Huddersfield 0-0 Manchester United
Manchester City 0-0 Burnley
Newcastle 0-0 Crystal Palace
Stoke 0-2 Bournemouth
Swansea 0-0 Leicester City

15:18
GOAL! Stoke 0-2 Bournemouth (Stanislas)

Shawcross brings down Afobe and Stanislas fires down the middle, beating Butland. Cherries in full control with two quick goals.

JANINE SELF AT THE BET 365 STADIUM: What was I saying about Stoke's over caution? They have conceded twice in as many minutes and look utterly shell shocked. Big test for Mark Hughes now.

15:16
GOAL! Stoke 0-1 Bournemouth (Surman 16)

It's come completely out of the blue but the Cherries are ahead at the bet365 Stadium, with Surman stroking the ball home.

15:15
Janine Self at Stoke v Bournemouth

JANINE SELF: The pre-match suggestion was that Stoke would play a 3-4-3 formation. Early stages and it looks rather like 5-4-1 with Diouf up fromt. Guessing that the 7-2 thrashing by Man City last weekend has left scars as it looks over cautious.

Not much to write home about yet - Erik Pieters rather optimistic with a penalty appeal following a challenge from Jordon Ibe.

15:08
The first chance for United

It's Lukaku who swivels and fires towards goal but it's an easy save for Lossl.

A couple of yellow cards, too, with Smith and Martial in the book after they tangled in midfield.

A little cautious from United so far.

15:06
The mood at the Etihad

JOE BERNSTEIN: Man City have won their last 10 - but Burnley have a secret weapon at The Etihad today, with England fast bowler and devoted Clarets fan Jimmy Anderson watching from the (very) posh seats

15:02
We're off and running in all our games
15:01
Craig Hope's at Newcastle v Crystal Palace

CRAIG HOPE: The last time Newcastle lost to the Premier League's bottom team was.... against Crystal Palace, a 2-1 defeat in 1998. Lombardo & Jansen were the scorers for Palace, Shearer for the hosts.

So is Roy
14:57
The word from Stoke v Bournemouth

Swirling rain and blustery conditions do not bode well for a feast of football at Stoke. Main topic of conversation is the absence of Jermain Defoe. Not even on the Bournemouth bench. Asmir Begovic is back on his old Potteries stomping ground.

14:56
Our man at the John Smith's Stadium

JACK GAUGHAN: Flippin' breezy here in Huddersfield. About 30 poor little kids have spent the last ten minutes stood with flags waiting for the teams to emerge. Looks like they might take off!

14:55
All the build-up from Swansea

ADAM SHERGOLD: Good Afternoon from the Liberty Stadium where I can confirm that Storm Brian has hit and it is very blowy indeed. The chill wind has even permeated the press room so we’re all quite reluctant to go outside until it’s absolutely necessary.

There have been travel problems for some spectators this afternoon - an articulated lorry was blown over on the M4 and a section had to be closed, while train services throughout Wales are subject to mandatory 50mph speed limits.

Anyway, to the action in prospect and Leicester are the main focus following the sacking of Craig Shakespeare on Tuesday following the 1-1 draw with West Bromwich Albion the evening before.

Michael Appleton takes temporary charge today as the club’s hierarchy continue their search for a replacement, with Sean Dyche and Claude Puel among the candidates.

Leicester’s owners Vichai and Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha are here this afternoon having spoken to the players in the week to try and calm tensions following the sacking.

While Leicester are in the relegation zone, Swansea are feeling more buoyant after claiming their first home win of the season seven days ago against Huddersfield.

Both teams make one change. Swansea’s is enforced, with Renato Sanches, the loanee from Bayern Munich who hasn’t done a great deal so far, coming in for the suspended Leroy Fer. Appleton has replaced Kelechi Iheanacho with Shinji Okazaki today.

Given the respective weaknesses of both team, this one is very hard to call. The weather will be a factor too. I’ll say a draw.

14:54
Here we go

Right then, less than 10 minutes until kick-off now in our five 3pm games across the Premier League.
