Crystal Palace will make a second check on Besiktas striker Cenk Tosun when he plays in the Champions League this week.

Eagles director of football Dougie Freedman saw Tosun score twice for Turkey against Finland in a World Cup qualifier last week.

The club will follow up their interest by watching again when the 26-year-old faces Monaco on Tuesday.

Roy Hodgson's bottom-of-the-table side have prioritised signing a forward in January with both their current No 9s Christian Benteke and Connor Wickham injured.

German-born Tosun joined Besiktas in 2014 and helped fire them into the Champions League last season.

He has scored six times this season but is in the final year of his contract in Istanbul.

The Turkey striker has been in fine form for both club and country so far this season

This means the Turkish club could sell for £20million even if they reach the knockout stages of Europe's top club competition.

Palace have been buoyed by their first win of the season against Chelsea and no doubt fans will be optimistic the club are looking to strengthen in January.

At 26-years-old Tosun still has his best years ahead of him and could be lured from Besiktas for a reduced price.
