Louis van Gaal's reign as Manchester United manager may not have gone as well as he had hoped, but the Dutchman is always welcomed back to the city with open arms and receives a particularly fond welcome at one of his favourite haunts.
The former United manager is back in England to work for Dutch television as Manchester United travel to bitter rivals Liverpool, and took the chance to return to one of his preferred restaurants on his return to Manchester.
Van Gaal was a regular at popular Chinese eatery Wing's during his two-year stay at Old Trafford and was clearly welcomed back with open arms by the owner, who ensured he and his wife Truus arrived for dinner in style as he was given a ride in his £300,000 Bentley.

After presumably enjoying his Friday night meal at a restaurant frequented by both United and City players, it was down to business for Van Gaal on Saturday as he headed to Anfield for the clash between United and Liverpool.
The Dutchman won the FA Cup in his final game as United boss before being replaced by Jose Mourinho, but there appeared to be no animosity between the two when they embraced in the Anfield tunnel prior to kick-off.
Van Gaal remains out of managerial work since departing United, but when he was in the Red Devils' hot seat he enjoyed an impressive record against Liverpool.

In total he has taken on the men from Anfield on six occasions, winning four, drawing one and losing once, but was unbeaten against the Reds as United boss as he won all four matches.
He won the first 3-0 at Old Trafford before securing a 2-1 win at Anfield on his first visit, before 3-1 and 1-0 victories in the corresponding games the following season.
It remains to be seen if he is a good luck charm this time around.
