Manchester City defender Benjamin Mendy gives recovery update from knee ligament injury in Barcelona

Benjamin Mendy is in Barcelona receiving the finest treatment on the knee injury that has very likely ended his first season with Manchester City.
The left-back, a £52million summer signing from Monaco, sustained the a ruptured cruciate ligament in only his fifth City appearance playing against Crystal Palace last month.
The 23-year-old shared a video on Instagram on Thursday from Spain with a number of pods stuck to his knee and leg.

Mendy underwent surgery on the injury in Barcelona and City manager Pep Guardiola admitted the defender's absence is a big loss.
'We would miss him a lot – it would be a major setback,' Guardiola said. ''It's very frustrating for him.
'Like what happened last year with Ilkay Gundogan, I feel really sad. For the way we want to play, he is a unique player.'
Mendy has kept his fans up to date with his recovery through social media.

Earlier this week he showed off an image of the scar on his knee from where he had the operation and amusingly captioned the video of him lightly dragging tissue over it with 'How happy I am to be able to scratch my scar'.
Premier League leaders Manchester City are at home against Stoke on Saturday.
