Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette is backed by team-mate Aaron Ramsey to score 'many more goals' for club after impressive start

  • Record signing Alexandre Lacazette has impressed with his start at Arsenal
  • Former Lyon forward has already netted four goals in seven matches for Gunners
  • Team-mate Aaron Ramsey believes the Frenchman has 'many more goals' in him
  • Ramsey also praised the striker for the quality of his link-up play on the pitch

Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette has been backed by team-mate Aaron Ramsey to grab 'many more goals' for the North London giants.

The former Lyon star has settled in well at the club, already hitting the back of the net four times since he signed for a record fee of more than £52 million in the summer.

But pal Ramsey believes the 26-year-old has far more in his locker to thrill Gunners fans in his debut season at the Emirates.

Speaking to the Arsenal website he said: 'I think he’s made a great start. He’s very technically good, he’s very clean with his touches and his link up play and he’s a great finisher.

'We’ve seen some fantastic finishes so far from him and I’m sure there will be many, many more to come as well, so it’s exciting times for him personally and for us to have him here.

'I think his understanding is pretty good so far. He likes to come a bit deeper sometimes and try to link up the play and feed players in. He likes to have a bit of banter as well off the pitch, so he’s settled in very well.'

The Gunners have rallied since their 4-0 humiliation by Liverpool at Anfield in August and are now unbeaten in seven matches.

Ramsey - who has the rare distinction of scoring the winning goal in two FA Cup Finals - and Lacazette, are on international duty with Wales and France respectively, but, injuries permitting, are expected to play for Arsenal on Saturday, October 14 when they travel to Watford.
