Granit Xhaka, Memphis Depay and Trent Alexander-Arnold among stars to wear special pink boots for breast cancer awareness

Granit Xhaka, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Memphis Depay are among the stars to wear special pink boots to raise awareness about breast cancer.  

The 'Power in Pink' campaign by Under Armour involves 30 high-profile players who will don the eye-catching new kicks.  

The Arsenal midfielder posted a picture of his new kicks on Instagram and wrote a heartfelt message about what the gesture means to him.

His caption read: 'Breast cancer is a horrible disease that affects entire families. Not just women - but children, husbands, mothers and fathers back home. 


'It takes enormous strength and courage to go to battle with such enemy every day of your life without losing hope.

'I'll therefore proudly wear their fighting spirit on my boots.'

October is breast cancer awareness month and the 25-year-old will take to the pitch for Switzerland and Arsenal in his boots made by Under Armour.

Xhaka will be wearing his new boots when Switzerland take on Hungary at home

The Swiss are playing Hungary and Portugal in their two remaining World Cup qualifiers where his new look will be on show. 

Some other big names to participate include Fraser Forster, Eniola Aluko and Germany star Jonathan Tah.  

All money made from the sale of the boots is to be donated to breast cancer charity 'The Haven'. 

The money they donate, will support therapy in six centres and will treat around 50 people suffering from the disease.
