Liverpool have received a major fitness boost after Adam Lallana revealed he was progressing well in his battle to overcome a thigh problem which has scuppered his start to the new season.
The England international is yet to play this term after suffering the injury during Liverpool's Audi Cup participation during the summer in Munich, and Jurgen Klopp said recently the player was 'too far away' to be considered.
But Lallana is closing in on a return after being filmed going through a series of strength and conditioning exercises - as well as his first outside session since the setback.

The Instagram post includes a a fast motion video of the former Southampton midfielder donning a swim cap and taking to the pool in the club's rehabilitation centre.
Lallana is then seen in club training gear doing a series of exercises to practice putting pressure on his knees using additional weight, before taking to the training pitch to perform a light job with a member of the club's fitness staff.
The sight of the 29-year-old stepping up his recovery at Melwood comes as a timely boost for the Merseysiders given the recent profligacy shown in front of goal by those currently fit.
In Liverpool's last six games in all competitions, Klopp's side had 126 shots compared to the opposition's 49, scoring seven but conceding 12. Lallana's creativity is missing just as much as a dominant defensive presence.

Gareth Southgate revealed at a press conference this week that his England squad to face Slovenia and Lithuania was missing several key players leading to 'one or two' not warranting a place based on their performances.
Such an admission, given Lallana was named England's 2016 player of the year, will come as a major shot in the arm for the Reds playmaker as he looks to return fully fit ahead of next summer's World Cup in Russia.
Lallana faces a battle to regain his place at Anfield first, however, with the arrival of Mohamed Salah creating the so-called 'Fab Four' alongside Philippe Coutinho, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino.
Jurgen Klopp faces a selection headache when his squad is strengthened by Lallana's return, and the player is confident it shall not be long before he is gracing the football pitch again.

'I'm getting on well – slowly but surely in the background,' Lallana said earlier this month.
'It's great to see the lads start so well, we've been playing some brilliant football. It has been great to be at Anfield for a couple of those games as well, and the Champions League game.
'I don't like staying away from it, I quite like being in the mix and involved in the games, especially the home games.
'I'm well into the way on my rehab now and it's going as well as it can. I'm obviously looking forward to being back.'
