Wilfried Zaha has been sorely missed since he injured his knee last month but the Crystal Palace star told fans on Wednesday: 'The comeback is near'.

The 24-year-old playmaker gave the update via Twitter as he shared a video of himself training at the club's Beckenham base.

Footage showed Zaha with strapping on his right knee as he sprinted through an agility drill which also included some ball work.

The London side have still yet to score a Premier League goal this season, taking zero points from their opening six games.

That barren run could continue a little while longer as Palace's next two fixtures are away to Manchester United and then at home to Chelsea.

Zaha is unlikely to return to full fitness in time to start against United on Saturday

But there is a good chance he could make Roy Hodgson's first XI when Chelsea visit Selhurst Park after the international break.

Chelsea will be wary of the threat Zaha can pose after the Ivory Coast international dismantled the Blues' backline at Stamford Bridge last season.

Zaha scored and assisted to help the Eagles record a shock 2-1 win over Chelsea on April Fools' Day earlier this year.
