Liverpool beat Leicester City in a five-goal Premier League thriller on Saturday night with Mohamed Salah, Philippe Coutinho and Jordan Henderson all on target.

The Reds twice led by a two-goal margin but were forced to endure a nervy evening after Shinji Okazaki then Jamie Vardy brought the Foxes to within touching distance.

Jurgen Klopp's side managed to hang on... just. And the Anfield outfit climbed to fifth in the table.

Salah sitter 

Moments before scoring his fifth Liverpool goal in nine games, summer signing Salah produced one of the misses of the season.

Emre Can struck the foot of the post from long range and the ball rebounded kindly for Salah, but he nudged an awkward shot wide when it looked easier to score.

This occurred in the 13th minute. Unlucky for Salah.

New low for scarves

Like them or loathe them, 50-50 scarfs are everywhere in the Premier League nowadays, with many fans collecting them as mementos of each game they attend.

But surely this is a step too far...

James Pearce spotted a stall selling special edition Klopp and Craig Shakespeare half-and-half scarves before kickoff. One assumes they didn't sell out.

Lucky Liverpool? 

In a game which featured five goals and a missed penalty, it would be easy to forget that Leicester had a first-half Okazaki strike ruled out for offside.

But was he?

Bad decisions finally even themselves out

We are often told by cliche-happy pundits that bad calls from officials 'even themselves out' throughout the course of a season.

Although that is not necessarily the case, it was perhaps true for 10 minutes at the end of the first half.

Okazaki scored a goal that should have been disallowed after being robbed of one that should have stood.

He clearly fouled Mignolet in the buildup to his stoppage-time strike by grabbing hold of the goalkeeper's arm.

But Okazaki was lucky not to be penalised for a foul in the buildup to his goal 10 minutes later

Simon Mignolet saved a second-half penalty from Vardy, after fouling the striker in the box.

As usual, Vardy went for power rather than placement and fired his effort towards the centre of the goal.

Mignolet anticipated this and palmed Vardy's effort away. He has now saved five of the last eight spot kicks he has faced.

Klopp fury

While this match provided plenty of entertainment, it was clearly a source of great frustration for Liverpool manager Klopp.

The German burned lots of energy as he vented his anger during a second half which saw Liverpool come very close to blowing their 3-1 lead.

Meanwhile in Asda... 

Although Coutinho and Salah both scored against Leicester, it was fellow attacking midfielder Sadio Mane who really won the hearts of Reds fans on Twitter.

Mane was suspended following his clash with Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson and didn't travel to the King Power Stadium on Saturday.

Instead, he took a trip to Asda where he kindly posed for this brilliant photo while holding a baby by the baked goods section.

Before the game, Sadio Mane - who did not travel to Leicester - was spotted shopping in Asda
