Palmer-Brown was on the bench for Sporting KC for their 1-1 draw with Columbus Crew on Sunday.

Sporting KC coach and technical director Peter Vermes said: 'He came to us and said there might be an opportunity. I said to him, ''Look, if that's what you want to do, then we'll support you.''

'He's played out his contract. It's happened with other guys. It's just one of those situations.'

Palmer-Brown was born in Ohio and has represented USA at U20 level. He captained their 2017 CONCACAF U20 Championship winning side and won the player of the tournament but figured in a defensive midfield role.

Juventus tried to sign him in 2014 and he spent time on loan at Porto in 2016 playing for their B team.
