Drinkwater left Leicester on Thursday night after Chelsea had an offer of £30million accepted.

A short statement on lcfc.com read: 'Leicester City can confirm that terms have been agreed with Sporting Clube de Portugal for the transfer of midfielder Adrien Silva.

'The transfer remains subject to international clearance approval.'

Silva did not feature in Portugal's 5-1 win over the Faroe Islands on Thursday due to a fractured rib, which also saw him miss Sporting's last league game.

The 28-year-old has featured in three Primeira Liga matches this season.

He scored in Sporting's 5-0 win over Vitoria de Guimaraes last month.

Silva leaves Sporting with the club top of the table, having taken maximum points from four games.

He joins a Leicester side who are 15th in the Premier League with three points from as many matches.
