Watford are discussing a potential deal to sign Dutch defender Marvin Zeegelaar from Sporting Lisbon.
The 27-year-old has been a target for Newcastle United and Norwich City in recent seasons.
Zeegelaar is most comfortable at left back, but he can also play as a winger.
Watford are in talks with Sporting Lisbon as they are keen on signing Marvin Zeegelaar
Dutchman Zeegelaar is an attacking left back, who can also be used in midfield as a winger
He had a two-game loan spell at Blackpool in 2013 while on the books of Turkish side Elazigspor.
Jose Holebas is Watford's first choice left back but the 33-year-old missed last weekend's 0-0 draw with Brighton through suspension, after being sent off in a League Cup loss to Bristol City.
Miguel Britos filled in for Holebas against Brighton, but he too was sent off.
Watford have made an impressive start under new manager Marco Silva, taking five points from their opening three Premier League games.
He has played in England before, briefly. In 2013 he made two sub appearances for Blackpool
