Wayne Rooney is welcoming the rest his newly-blank international break will provide after admitting to feeling the heat with Everton.
Rooney started his seventh game of the season in the defeat at Chelsea on Sunday but now has some time off having retired from England duty last week.
And the 31-year-old says he was worn out by full-time in the boiling Bank Holiday heat at Stamford Bridge.

'I feel good,' Rooney said. 'I tired towards the end there because of the heat and we were chasing the ball a lot which makes it difficult.
'But in general I feel good and I can have a good rest now and be ready for the next game.'
Everton face Tottenham on September 9.
Rooney has retired from international football to focus his energies on Everton
Rooney's schedule has been packed by the Toffees' Europa League qualifying campaign — no player in the Premier League has started more games than him this season already.
After years of European challenges with Manchester United, it is a situation the striker is used to. He says English football does not do enough to help its big teams on the continent.
'It's always been the case — you get into Europe, you have a lot of games and we're probably the only country across Europe that doesn't do any favours for our teams,' Rooney said.
