Crystal Palace set for talks with manager Frank de Boer after defeat by Swansea left his side without a point after three Premier League matches

Crystal Palace are expected to hold discussions with manager Frank de Boer this week amid concerns about their start to the season.

The Dutchman is under pressure already as Palace have yet to register a point in their opening games with three straight defeats and have disappointed in their performances.

De Boer, who said he was not worried about his job prior to the game, criticised his side's 'a lack of courage' following Saturday's defeat to Swansea.

'We have to show some balls from the first second of the game. It wasn't until after we were two nil down that we showed we really can play,' De Boer said. 'It is a very hard lesson for us. If we do not show balls or courage then you get punished.

'Hopefully you will see a different Palace after international window.'

De Boer will hope to still be at Palace to show that side but there are rumblings of discontent within the dressing room which the board are understood to be aware of.

The 47-year-old had great success at Ajax but lasted just 85 days at Inter Milan before being sacked. He will hope to last longer at Palace but they flirted with relegation last season and want to avoid a similar scenario.

As they make efforts to bring players in this week, Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho remains a target even though they have had a £24m bid rejected.
