Both sides remain unbeaten this season.

40 mins: Forster spills a cross, gifting a chance to Kachunga, but the Saints stopper does excellently to make amends and deny the Huddersfield striker.

38 mins: James Tomkins hammers a shot over after McArthur's lay-off. And he's hurt himself in the process.

39 mins: The Magpies look to double their lead but Mikel Merino's shot is straight at Hart.

36 mins: They've done it again. Brighton are rattling the Watford 'woodwork' today. First it was Knockaert, now it's Tomer Hemed at the near post. 

35 mins: Dear, dear, dear. Alfie Mawson should put Swansea in front at Palace but, unmarked, he heads wide from six yards out.

35 mins: Brighton's first chance since Watford went down to 10 men but Dunk heads a corner wide.

28 mins: Javier Manquillo's looping cross almost leaves Joe Hart red-faced but the ball drifts out of play.

A horror challenge from Miguel Britos and a well deserved red card for it. The Watford man was airborne as he leaped at Anthony Knockaert and stuck his studs into the Brighton star, just below the knee. 

It looked worthy of a red in real time and was even worse with the replays. A leg breaker. Knockaert's continued somehow.

Cathcart replaces Amrabat, 28.

There's a bit of delay here because of what looks like a very nasty facial injury for Andre Ayew.

He was sliding to tackle Mikel Merino when the midfielder's trailing boot caught him full in the face. There is a lot off blood and Ayew is still on the floor, some five minutes after the incident.

Shocking challenge from Miguel Britos on Knockaert. Watford will play 65 minutes with 10 men.

20 mins: Two big chances for Huddersfield. Firstly, Kachunga's shot is well blocked by Yoshida, then Steve Mounie sees his effort saved by Forster.

19 mins: Patrick van Aanholt flashes the ball across the face of the six-yard box and, when it gets put back into the mix, James McArthur heads wide.

19 mins: Isaac Hayden comes close for Newcastle, but his strike fizzes narrowly over the top of the crossbar.

16 mins: Brighton come to life and almost take the lead when Anthony Knockeart sends a curling effort crashing off an upright and away to safety.

14 mins: Mathias Zanka is unmarked in the Southampton box but the Huddersfield man can only head Tommy Smith's cross straight at Fraser Forster.

10 mins: Somehow, both Andre Gray and Richarlison fail to convert Amrabat's cross and the Watford faithful cannot believe it.

10 mins: Nathan Redmond should put Southampton in front against Huddersfield when he's played in by Stephen Davis but Jonas Lossl smothers the danger.

In the matchday programme, Huddersfield’s owner, manager and captain were all eager to raise the same point: make some noise. The John Smith’s Stadium is not totally sold out but the atmosphere is just how the club would want it to be and the team’s start has been suitably brisk.

We haven’t had any clear chances yet but the contest is lively and if it stays this way, goals should follow. One interested spectator here is Dan Ashworth, the FA’s technical director.

Raheem Sterling has hit a 97th-minute winner for Manchester City at Bournemouth... before being sent off after celebrating with the crowd.

Sterling, who also netted a late equaliser for City against Everton on Monday, saw his deflected effort loop into the net but then picked up a second yellow card after being mobbed by fans.

Boss Paul Clement returns to the Selhurst Park scene of his first Swansea game admitting it 'seems a lifetime ago'.

Clement was appointed head coach nine months ago on January 3, with Swansea bottom of the Premier League and reeling from Bob Bradley's disastrous 85 days in charge.

That night Swansea were playing at relegation rivals Crystal Palace and Clement was supposed to be having a watching brief from the stands.

David Wagner expects a step up in quality as Huddersfield look to continue their flying start in the Premier League against Southampton.

The Terriers, back in the top flight after a 45-year absence, have won their first two league games of the season against Crystal Palace and Newcastle.

Saints are their next opponents at the John Smith's Stadium on Saturday and Wagner is calling on supporters to ramp up the atmosphere for what he feels will be their toughest test yet.

CRAIG HOPE: In May, Rafa Benitez returned to Newcastle United’s training ground to begin work ahead of the new Premier League campaign. Last season’s top-flight fixtures had not yet finished.

It was then that the Spaniard — buoyant in the wake of winning the Championship title — said this: ‘We will try to put things in place that (owner Mike Ashley) will realise are a professional approach. We’re talking about a project and we’re not thinking about something that’s not possible.’

On Friday, just three months on, Benitez gave us the clearest indication yet that everything has changed, and not for the better.

Newcastle, somewhat in disarray, host West Ham in desperate need of a morale-boosting victory.

Huddersfield, the surprise package in the first two weeks of the season, look to protect their 100 per cent record when Southampton visit the John Smith's.

Crystal Palace are another club who could do with a spark - they take on Swansea - while Watford return to action following revelations regarding the EFL investigation into a fake banking letter.
