Bournemouth fantasy football league revealed... with Asmir Begovic having a nightmare after picking red-carded Cesc Fabregas and Gary Cahill

  • Bournemouth squad including Nathan Ake create fantasy football league
  • The former Chelsea star has picked himself along with team-mate Brad Smith
  • Lewis Cook leads after the opening weekend with an impressive 86 points
  • Charlie Daniels appears to be a popular pick among the whole of the squad

The stars of Bournemouth appear to have given themselves extra motivation in the Premier League this season as it was revealed that several of them had picked themselves on Fantasy Premier League football.

A link to the Cherries squad's private division was discovered on the official Fantasy Premier League website and gave fans the chance to run the rule over choices made by the likes of Asmir Begovic and Nathan Ake.

Several of the players, including Ake, picked themselves while left back Charlie Daniels proved a popular choice among his team-mates. You can check out the run down of every team below.

There is a long way to go but Lewis Cook has thrown down an early marker in the league

Lewis Cook - Borussia Teeth

Cook has chosen himself but, rather wisely, kept himself on the bench; perhaps only after Eddie Howe had told him he would not be playing against West Brom. He is one of many to have Charlie Daniels included in defence.

Dan Gosling - Winners Win

Gosling has blown most of his budget on a star line-up of Sergio Aguero, Romelu Lukaku and Alexandre Lacazette but it seems to be paying off after a stellar first week. He's also found room for Daniels in defence.

Aaron Ramsdale - SALT & PEPE

Ramsdale has taken a punt on Swansea striker Tammy Abraham and has no room for any of his Bournemouth team-mates in the starting XI or the bench.

Jonny King - Kings Landing

Ryan Fraser is the only Bournemouth star to make it the Kings Landing's starting XI but Stewart Francis has been picked as the first substitute on the bench. Both got two points this week.

Dave Gardner - AFC Gards

Gardner has gone all out with his allegiances, picking the maximum three players from Bournemouth in the form of Daniels, Ake and King. A loyal Cherry if ever there was one.

Nathan Ake - AKECHA

The former Chelsea star appears to show plenty of confidence in his own ability after picking himself in a back three alongside Nacho Monreal and Ryan Bertrand. Team-mate Brad Smith is an option off the bench.

Calum Wilson - wilson

With three from Tottenham and a further two from Manchester United and Chelsea, Wilson's fantasy team is about as unimaginative as his team name. We guess there is a reluctant participant in our midst.

Emerson Hyndman - Tea & Busquets

Obviously a veteran at this game, Hyndaman has even found time to design his own club kit, opting for an Atletico-esque red and white strip with blue sleeves. That's the most interesting thing out his team.

Charlie Daniels - cd's

Daniels joins Ake in picking himself in his own team and reaped just two points from that decision after a disappointing 1-0 defeat to West Brom in the opening day of the season.

Baily Cargill - Cargill's XI

Cargill is another man to have blown a hefty chunk of his £100m budget on an all-star strike force in Lukaku and Aguero, compensating by choosing his team-mate Steve Cook (£5m) in defence.

Bradley Smith - real sausage ya dad

It's another nod for defender Nathan Ake in defence while Brad Smith is modest enough to place himself on the bench. As he didn't play against West Brom, it was obviously for the best.

Marc Pugh - Pughie FC

Charlie Daniels is again included at the back along with two Southampton defenders in Ryan Betrand and Cedric Soares and three from Manchester United.

Harry Corn - Cornickio fc

An exceptionally rare five-at-the-back formation with Charlie Daniels and Adam Smith included is putting a lot of pressure on the Bournemouth backline to perform this season.

Ryan Fraser - lads on toure

Marc Pugh and Nathan Ake get the nod from Ryan Fraser, who made the brave decision of picking the notoriously unreliable Simon Mignolet in the goal. Not helped by his defence, the Belgian conceded three against Watford.

Asmir Begovic - Ballers United

The former Chelsea goalkeeper thought he was being kind to his former club when he chose Cesc Fabregas and Gary Cahill but no good deed goes unpunished. Both were sent off in the 3-2 defeat by Burnley, costing him four points.

Matthew Best - Ajax Trees

A potential conflict of interest was avoided after Matthew Best left Ahmed El-Sayed Hegazi on the bench, who scored the winner against the Cherries and collected 15 points as a result.

Steve Cook - Cookie united

Another player to pick himself in his own fantasy XI, Steve Cook sits second bottom of the league with just 41 points. Captain Harry Kane would have been a big disappointment while Kelechi Iheanacho played only eight minutes for Leicester.

Adam Dowsett - Bayern bru

Great name, awful team. Dowsett is already cut adrift from the rest of the division with a measly 36 points from the opening round of fixtures. He is notably the only player to have Asmir Begovic in goal and one of many to choose Daniels.
