Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba held his first Twitter question and answer session on Saturday - and some fans showed they would do anything to speak to their hero.

Pogba invited supporters at 11am to quiz him on anything, and fielded queries on football, his relationships with other players and his life in general.

However, when Pogba decided to wrap up the Q&A, one supporter whose request went unanswered took drastic action.

The Twitter user, under the handle of @ElDiabloRojo - Spanish for 'Red Devil', after United's nickname, tweeted a picture which they claimed was their grandmother in a large cage and threatened not to let her out until Pogba had replied.

The entire thing was clearly light hearted - the lady smiling as she clutched the bars of what looked like a bird cage - and Pogba saw the funny side.

He granted the fan's wish and freed the prisoner by responding with two laughing emojis and the reply: 'Granny, I come to the rescue'.

Pogba - recently deposed as the world's most expensive player after Neymar's move to PSG - also demonstrated the importance of his religion in the Q&A.

He was asked 'Who was the biggest influence in your life?', and replied 'Allah', with a prayer emoji.

When asked about his footballing hero, the France international gave an extensive list, featuring Ronaldinho, Kaka, Ronaldo - the Brazilian striker - Zinedine Zidane and Diego Maradona.

Pogba also gave encouragement to a 15-year-old who asked if it was too late to become a professional footballer, and bantered with a fan who asked what he said to Neymar before a pre-season friendly after they were spotted chatting in the tunnel, replying 'We just spoke about life.'

The midfielder showed the non-football side of himself in the chat - he revealed his favourite superhero is the hulk, and his favourite action movie is Avatar.

He also referenced his friendship with Romelu Lukaku - believed to be a major force behind the Belgian choosing to move to United - by saying the striker was his most difficult opponent on the pitch last season - although Pogba insisted he is better at basketball.
