Ross Barkley misses Everton's pre-season trip to Tanzania as Wayne Rooney and Co jet out of Liverpool
- Ross Barkley has been ruled out of Everton's pre-season trip to Tanzania
- A 25-man squad left Liverpool airport for Dar Es Salaam on Tuesday night

Ross Barkley's future at Everton was plunged into greater doubt on Tuesday night when he was left out of their new-look squad heading to Tanzania for a pre-season friendly.
The club said the 23-year-old had suffered a groin injury and he was not in a 25-man group — which includes new signings Wayne Rooney, Michael Keane and Davy Klaassen — that left Liverpool Airport for Dar Es Salaam last night.
The midfielder has entered the final 12 months of his contract but will not commit to a new deal and Everton manager Ronald Koeman believes Barkley should be sold if he is not prepared to sign.

Barkley’s place at Everton has been put sharply into focus over the summer by the arrivals of Rooney and Klaassen, as well as the pursuit of Gylfi Sigurdsson — all players who can operate in his position.
Everton have indicated that if they sell Barkley they will command a fee in the region of £50million.
Tottenham and Arsenal have been watching his position but, as yet, Everton have not received any firm offers.
There is no indication yet as to how long Barkley will be out - Everton's second friendly is in Holland a week on Wednesday - but he cannot afford a prolonged absence if he wants to get back into Koeman's plans.

The main focus of Everton's transfer business at present is trying to broker a deal for Swansea playmaker Sigurdsson - he is Koeman's prime target - and recruiting a new striker.
They have interest in Arsenal's Olivier Giroud and Christian Benteke of Crystal Palace.
Yannick Bolasie is part of the touring squad but will not feature due to a long-term knee injury
