Everton have identified Benteke as an alternative to their main target Arsenal's Olivier Giroud
The 26-year-old is looking for a new home in the English capital but the former Liverpool striker is admired by staff at Goodison Park.
He is also on Chelsea's list of options as boss Antonio Conte looks to bolster his options in the striking department.
Giroud travelled with Arsenal to Sydney on Sunday as Everton ponder their next move.
Giroud's future is in doubt after Alexander Lacazette's arrival but the fact he has made the 12,000-mile trip suggests the Frenchman wants to stay and fight for his place.
Giroud is on Arsenal's pre-season tour of Australia and has indicated he wants to stay a Gunner
