The summer transfer window is in full swing as Premier League clubs bid to ready their squads for the challenges of another season in the top flight.

Manchester United are set to pip Chelsea for the signature of £75million striker Romelu Lukaku while Arsenal have landed their man with £53million Lyon forward Alexandre Lacazette arriving in north London.

But there is still business to be done with champions Chelsea yet to add to their title-winning team and Everton preparing to continue their summer spending spree.

Real Madrid have told Dani Ceballos he has 24 hours to decide whether he will accept their offer to move to the Bernabeu, according to Spanish outlet AS.

AS report that Los Blancos have told the Real Betis midfielder, who starred for Spain Under 21s in their run to the final of the European Championships, that if he accepts their offer he would have an immediate place in their first team squad.

Madrid return for pre-season training on Monday and manager Zinedine Zidane wants to know whether he can include Ceballos in the club's tour of the United States - which takes off on Tuesday.

Paris Saint-Germain sign Yuri Berchiche

Paris Saint-Germain have completed the signing of Real Sociedad's Yuri Berchiche. 

The Spanish left back joins on a four-year deal and told his new club's official website that it will be 'an honour' to wear the PSG shirt.

Berchiche spent two years with Tottenham earlier in his career from 2008-10, before returning to Spain first with Real Union and then Sociedad.

Why Lacazette's arrival shouldn't mean Giroud's exit

Alexandre Lacazette joining Arsenal from Lyon for £53million means Olivier Giroud could find himself left out in the cold next season at the Emirates.

Giroud is a target for Ligue 1 side Marseille as well as Ronald Koeman's Everton, who continue to spend ahead of the new season.

However the 30-year-old has proven himself to be a reliable goalscorer for Arsene Wenger's side and France boss Didier Deschamps routinely selects him ahead of Lacazette for Les Bleus.

Burnley's Rouwen Hennings joins Fortuna Dusseldorf

Burnley forward Rouwen Hennings has moved to Fortuna Dusseldorf on a permanent transfer after spending a season at the German second-tier club last season.

The 29-year-old marksman joins Fortuna on a free transfer from Sean Dyche's side and signs a three-year contract.

Hennings signed for Burnley from Karlsruher in 2015 but failed to make an impression in Lancashire - scoring just twice.

Turan going nowhere

Arda Turan's agent has dismissed any suggestions that his client could be set to leave Barcelona, insisting the midfielder with remain at the Nou Camp.

Turan has struggled to nail down a first team place at the Catalan giants since joining from Atletico Madrid in the summer of 2015 - though he was unable to make his debut until January 2016 due to Barcelona's transfer ban.

But agent Ahmet Bulut insists Turan will remain a Barcelona player, telling NT Spor: 'Arda will stay at Barcelona. He has three years left on his contract.'

Anthony Modeste set for China

FC Cologne striker Anthony Modeste is close to a £31million move to Chinese side Tianjin Quanjian, according to German newspaper Bild. 

Modeste enjoyed a brilliant season in front of goal netting 25 times for Cologne as they finished in fifth place in the Bundesliga table. 

And the 29-year-old forward, who had a spell on loan with Blackburn in 2012, is reportedly on his way to the Chinese Super League as Cologne prepare to cash in on their talisman.

Who should Chelsea target now?

Chelsea's transfer plans have been left in tatters after they were snubbed by top target Everton's Romelu Lukaku - who is set for a £75m move to Manchester United. 

The Blues could now switch their attentions to Torino's Andrea Belotti or Real Madrid's Alvaro Morata, who was a United target before they made the Lukaku breakthrough.

Chelsea also retain interest in Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko and Juventus defender Alex Sandro as Antonio Conte bids to finally get the champion's transfer window up and running.

Saidy Janko leaves Celtic for St Etienne

Saidy Janko has joined St Etienne on a four-year deal after leaving Scottish giants Celtic.

The Swiss defender moved to Celtic from Manchester United in 2015 but failed to nail down a first team spot in Glasgow and was sent out on loan to Barnsley last season.

Janko told the Ligue 1 club's website: 'Joining a club of this magnitude is a great opportunity for me. This is one of the biggest French clubs with a wonderful history and fantastic supporters.'

AC Milan sign Andrea Conti

AC Milan have confirmed the arrival of Atalanta right back Andrea Conti, who arrives at the San Siro on a five-year deal. 

Milan tweeted the news to their official account, describing Conti as one of the most exciting players in Serie A last season. 

Conti impressed in Atalanta's defence last campaign and was a key player for Italy Under 21s as they reached the semi-finals of the European championships in Poland.

The purchase of Conti continues AC Milan's remarkable summer so far - with Franck Kessie, Ricardo Rodriguez, Mateo Musacchio, Andre Silva, Fabio Borini and Hakan Calhanoglu already arriving in the Italian capital.

Sporting Lisbon sign Barcelona defender Mathieu

Jeremy Mathieu has left Barcelona to join Sporting Lisbon on a two-year deal.

The French defender had been allowed to join Sporting on trial last week and after impressing the Portuguese club, he has now completed a permanent transfer.

Sporting confirmed the signing on Twitter, tweeting a graphic welcoming Mathieu to the Portuguese capital.

Howson and Christie arrive at Middlesbrough

Middlesbrough are about to unveil the double signing of Jonny Howson and Cyrus Christie.

Howson is set to join from Norwich for a fee of £6million while defender Christie moves to the Teesiders from Championship side Derby.

Juventus want Douglas Costa and Bernardeschi

Juventus are reportedly close to signing Bayern winger Douglas Costa with the Brazilian free to leave the Bundesliga champions.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus are nearing a deal for Costa, while they also retain interest in Fiorentina's Federico Bernardeschi.

Man City in talks over 19-year-old Turkey international Cengiz Under

Manchester City officials have reportedly flown to Istanbul to hold talks over 19-year-old forward Cengiz Under.

Turkish outlet Fanatik report that Under's club Basaksehir, who ex-City defender Gael Clichy just joined, spoke to representatives from the Etihad club for four hours but a fee couldn't be agreed.

After a breakthrough season in Turkey, Under was rewarded with a call up to the Turkey national team where he has since scored twice in four appearances.

Manchester United believe they have agreed a deal to sign Romelu Lukaku for £75million from Everton as Jose Mourinho bids to strengthen a squad which finished sixth in the Premier League last campaign. 

United have already signed Victor Lindelof from Benfica and remain keen on adding Inter's Croatian winger Ivan Perisic, but who will make it into Jose Mourinho's XI for 2017-18.

Mertesacker to manage Arsenal's academy in a year

WILL GRIFFEE: Per Mertesacker is to take the reins at Arsenal's academy from next season. 

The German central defender will continue as part of Arsene Wenger's squad during the upcoming campaign but plans to increase his knowledge and understanding of his future role in concurrence with playing before retirement. 

Arsene Wenger told the club's website: 'Per is an exceptional character who is a great example for young players. He is a deep thinker about the game and committed to helping players fulfil their potential. 

'He will be an inspirational figure for everyone connected with the academy.'

Newcastle's Gilliead joins Bradford on loan

Alex Gilliead has joined Bradford on a six-month loan deal from Newcastle. 

The League One outfit, who lost in the playoff final to Millwall, have signed the 21-year-old after he spent six months on loan at Valley Parade during the second half of last season.

Gilliead can play up front or on the wing and has featured for England at Under 20 level.

Everton's Joel wants La Liga move

Joel Robles is close to leaving Everton following the Toffees' signing of Sunderland goalkeeper Jordan Pickford, according to reports in Spain.

Marca report that Joel, who is out of contract next year, is attracting interest from Malaga, Deportivo La Coruna, Las Palmas and Getafe.

There is also interest from newly-promoted Huddersfield but Joel is believed to prefer a move back to his homeland having joined Everton from Atletico Madrid in 2013.

WILL GRIFFEE: Arsenal have returned with a £40million bid for Monaco star Thomas Lemar after seeing their initial £30m approach rejected. 

Monaco have previously stated their refusal to sell the talented 21-year-old midfielder at any price this summer but the Gunners are testing that resolve, according to L'Equipe. 

The Frenchman is known to have a strong friendship with new Arsenal signing and compatriot Alexandre Lacazette.

Fulham sign Ibrahima Cisse

Ibrahima Cisse has joined Fulham on a three-year deal from Belgian outfit Standard Liege.

The Cottagers announced the move on their Twitter account, adding that the deal includes the option of a further year.

Cisse is a 23-year-old defensive midfielder, who previously featured for the Belgium Under 21 side.

Manchester United believe they have agreed a deal to sign Everton striker Romelu Lukaku for a fee of £75million. 

The move significantly strengthens United, who were in need of a marksman to replace the goals scored by outgoing Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

But by pipping Premier League champions Chelsea to the Belgian's signature, the move also shows United are still able to attract the biggest names after a number of failed pursuits in the past few years.

Barcelona president: Marco Verratti is a 'prisoner'

Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu has referred to his transfer target Marco Verratti as a 'prisoner' of Paris Saint-Germain and claimed the Ligue 1 club has refused to enter into negotiations over the Italian midfielder.

Bartomeu told Mundo Deportivo that Verratti wants to come to Barcelona, but PSG owner Nasser Al-Khelaifi is preventing the deal going through because selling his star midfielder would damage his reputation.

'We want Marco Verratti and he wants to come here,' Bartomeu said. 'Verratti is a player that interests us for a transfer, the coaches believe he is good enough to play in the Barca midfield.

'Marco Verratti is a prisoner of the Emir (Qatar's head of state),' the Barcelona chief added. 'El-Khelaifi has told me that if he sells (Verratti) then they would never forgive him in Doha.'

Middlesbrough close in on £6m Jonny Howson

LAURIE WHITWELL: Norwich have accepted a £6million bid from Middlesbrough for Jonny Howson with the midfielder now set for a medical on Teeside.

Howson, 29, is understood to have made his desire for a move away clear during training this week and Norwich have reluctantly accepted Boro's offer.

Swansea sign Eidur Gudjohnsen's half-brother Arnor

Swansea have signed 16-year-old Arnor Gudjohnsen, half brother of former Chelsea and Barcelona star Eidur.

The midfielder joins Paul Clement's side from Breidablik in Iceland and is expected to link up with Swansea's academy side. 

He is the son of former Iceland international Arnor Snr - and told the club that his father and brother have been a huge help in advising him over the years.

MATT BARLOW: Middlesbrough's Maarten de Roon is close to sealing a £19million return to his former club Atalanta.

Boro signed Dutch midfielder De Roon from the Serie A side for £12m last year but he looks set to leave Teeside following relegation from the top flight.

Bolton have signed Stephen Darby after the defender left Bradford at the end of last season.

Darby has penned a two-year deal with the Trotters, who were promoted to the Championship after finishing second in League One last season.

Crystal Palace are interested in Barcelona goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen should Steve Mandanda return to Marseille, according to reports in Spain.

Spanish newspaper AS report that De Boer is keen on Cillessen, who he managed while in charge of Ajax.

Cillessen is firmly the second choice goalkeeper at the Nou Camp and at 28 years old he may be keen to move on to get increased playing time.

Dani Alves to seal Man City move next week

JACK GAUGHAN: Dani Alves will arrive in England next week and seal his free transfer to Manchester City having negotiated the termination of his contract at Juventus.

The right back has agreed to join Pep Guardiola’s overhaul at the Etihad Stadium and ready to sign a two-year deal.

Inter Milan sign Milan Skriniar

Inter have signed 22-year-old defender Milan Skrniar from Sampdoria after he impressed in the European Under 21 Championships playing for Slovakia. 

The San Siro giants announced the transfer on their official Twitter account, adding that Skrniar had signed a five-year contract with the club. 

Skrniar joined Sampdoria in January 2016 and impressed in Serie A before an impressive Euro U21 campaign that saw him named to the team of the tournament.

Stoke register interest in Delph

Stoke have registered their interest in Manchester City's Fabian Delph as Mark Hughes continues to strengthen his midfield following the arrival of Darren Fletcher.

Delph moved to the Etihad from Aston Villa for £8million two years ago but he has been frozen out under new manager Pep Guardiola.

Hughes is also happy to let Jonathan Walters move on, after accepting the striker is keen on a move to Premier League rivals Burnley.

DANIEL MATTHEWS: Arsenal and Real Madrid face an increasingly tough battle to sign in-demand forward Kylian Mbappe from Monaco, with Paris Saint-Germain prepared to match any bids for the 18-year-old.

LAURIE WHITWELL AND SIMON JONES: Leicester are moving closer to signing Kelechi Iheanacho from Manchester City in a £25million deal, but the deal could still take a few weeks to be finalised.

Craig Shakespeare has been looking to add to his attack and wants to have the deal completed before the club fly to Hong Kong for the Premier League Asia Trophy.

Leicester slap £50m price tag on Mahrez

AMITAI WINEHOUSE: Riyad Mahrez has been left in transfer limbo with Arsenal unwilling to meet Leicester's £50million valuation.

The north London side have held talks with the Foxes over signing the former PFA Player of the Year, but do not want to pay more than £35m for the Algerian international.

Mahrez has handed in a transfer request and is understood to have an agreement with Leicester that he will be allowed to leave this summer. 

But with a huge gap in valuation between the two Premier League sides, he is expected to attend the start of pre-season training with Leicester on Friday despite the question marks over his future.
