Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann swapped his football boots for a basketball jersey as he donned Boston Celtics colours during the Eastern Conference Finals.

The Frenchman ended a prolific season in the Spanish capital and found time to fly stateside to watch the NBA clash.

Manchester United fans are sure to be following Griezmann's summer with a close eye as boss Jose Mourinho places the 26-year-old at the top of his wishlist.

The Frenchman donned a Celtics jersey as he was pictured with All-Star Isaiah Thomas

But the France international has temporarily escaped talk of transfers by travelling to New England to watch Cleveland Cavaliers knockout the Celtics with a 135-102 win.

The Atletico star was pictured with Celtics point guard and NBA All-Star Isaiah Thomas, who was injured for their final game.

Griezmann will return to Madrid — but for how long is unknown. The Atletico talisman impressed again this season — scoring 16 times and contributing eight assists in La Liga this season — and now Mourinho is ready to pounce.

The United boss has earmarked Griezmann, along with Romelu Lukaku, Andrea Belotti and Michael Keane, as part of a £300m summer spending spree.

Griezmann has a £90m buyout clause in his contract at the Spanish club but conceded earlier this week his chances of moving to Old Trafford were 'six out of 10'.

Mourinho has handed his 'shopping list' to Ed Woodward and the board and will be eager to see the deal over the line this summer to bolster their attacking options next term.
