Plying his trade for Aston Villa, Norwich, Southampton, Portsmouth, Tottenham and now Stoke in the Premier League, Crouch has enjoyed a stellar career in the top echelon of English football.

He tops a list of esteemed Premier League stalwarts, with no less than all-time leading goalscorer Alan Shearer sitting in second place.

Shearer bagged an astonishing 260 goals during spells at Southampton, Blackburn and Newcastle with almost a fifth of them (46) headers.

Manchester United's potent trio at the turn of the century - Dwight Yorke, Teddy Sheringham and Andrew Cole - all also feature in the top 10 list of aerial threats over the last 25 years.

Former Everton talisman Duncan Ferguson, whose Premier League goals record for the Blues was overtaken by Romelu Lukaku earlier this season, managed 36 headers while fellow Toffee Tim Cahill scored 31.

Departing Chelsea captain John Terry props up the top-10 with 27 and is the only other active player in the Premier League who makes the list.

Terry will hope to add to his tally as Bournemouth and Swansea are both interested in the defender's services next season.
