Everton are preparing to sell James McCarthy this summer as Newcastle United, West Ham and Crystal Palace circle for the midfielder.
Manager Ronald Koeman says the 26-year-old has a future at Goodison but club sources maintain they will try and sell McCarthy for around £20million to help offset their planned summer spending spree.
McCarthy has pulled out of the Republic of Ireland squad for next month's games against Mexico, Uruguay and Austria as he concentrates on making a full recovery from his latest hamstring injury.

Koeman said: 'Of course I want to keep McCarthy because all the times he was really fit and on his level most of the time he was a starting player. But it was really difficult because he had a lot of injuries and that makes it difficult for him and the manager also.
'He will stay (at home for these Ireland games). He spoke to the manager and they took the decision he will not go to the national team.
'In my opinion that is a really good decision he needs to recover and get ready for pre-season.'
However, that pre-season may be spent elsewhere with Newcastle particularly keen to pair McCarthy with Fulham's Tom Cairney. Palace and West Ham have also expressed interest.
Everton, who held a board meeting on Friday, are pressing to sign Gylfi Sigurdsson from Swansea but Ross Barkley is being priced out of a move to Tottenham.
