Gary Neville has labelled Arsene Wenger a 'giant of the game' and insists the Arsenal boss deserves more respect from supporters at the Emirates.
The former Manchester United defender-turned-pundit sat down with Arsenal Fan TV this week, and stuck by his decision to call one supporter an 'idiot' for holding up an anti-Wenger banner.
Neville was invited on to the YouTube channel after irking Arsenal fans with his comments about Kane Hopps' 'Enough is enough, time to go' display, and he surprised many by accepting the supporters' request.

In a 36-minute chat at Sky Sports' studios, Neville was keen to reiterate his views on Wenger, who he believes does not deserve the manner of the criticism being levelled at him.
'Does Arsene Wenger's 20 years of service at the club deserve a little bit more respect than certain types of things that have happened?' Neville began. 'Some would say yes, some no, he deserves everything he gets. Some people, including myself, would say hang on a minute.
'If it was Payet, who handed in a transfer request at West Ham and has left the club now, you can understand why fans would go full on. If it was John Terry, who has given Chelsea 20 years and might not be in the team any more, might not be playing as well. Does he deserve banners and abuse? No.
'It's a unique one with Arsene Wenger, what he has achieved at the club, the greatest ever manager for Arsenal. His performance levels consistently for 20 years have been unbelievable.'

Neville called Kane Hopps an 'idiot' for revealing an anti-Wenger banner at Stamford Bridge
Since Neville's comments following the Gunners' defeat at Chelsea, Wenger's side have been trounced 5-1 by Bayern Munich in the Champions League, leading to yet more speculation over Wenger's future.
In fact, the manager himself responded to journalists' questions on Friday, revealing: 'No matter what happens I will manage for another season. Whether it's here or somewhere else, that is for sure.'
Wenger says his future will be decided in March or April, but Neville believes Arsenal fans may regret their if they force the Frenchman out.
'I do go along the line of, "Be careful what you wish for",' he continued. 'Not in the sense that change isn't good, because it can be, but Arsenal's spending has been less than all the other clubs.
'Tottenham, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea. If you spend less, you're more than likely - and I know Leicester are the exception you all point towards - to finish below those other clubs.

He says Arsenal supporters may regret forcing Wenger out if he does leave in the summer
'To continue to finish second, third, fourth over that period while still spending that much is an unbelievable achievement. I do get frustrated enormously with the continued struggle in big games away from home. I'm frustrated with Arsenal.'
The Arsenal Fan TV presenters took particular interest in questioning Neville over his comments made live on Sky Sports at the beginning of February - a moment which sparked the chain of events leading to the interview.
During his co-commentary of Arsenal's trip to Chelsea, Neville said of a fan holding a banner in the stand: 'He's an idiot, that guy.
'Arsene Wenger doesn't deserve that, obviously the Arsenal fans are disappointed, but to pre-empt by bringing a banner into the ground, it's a joke.'
When questioned by Moh, Troopz, Claude, DT and Arsenal Fan TV founder Robbie Lyle on his comments, the 41-year-old said: 'What I would say, and I'll be absolutely clear, there are very few things I've said on television that I've regretted, over five years.

Neville says he rarely regrets anything he says on TV, and will always speak his mind
'I use my own language, language that I'd use growing up as a fan and a kid. I don't throw out cliches or nice words. Sometimes when a word comes out my mouth I think: "Come back, come back".
'I've been in football professionally for 20 years, having been a fan, a part-owner of a club. However, I will always speak my mind, always say what I believe. I'd be interested to know what that fan will think in 20 years' time.
'I know a lot of people have found it difficult to accept the word "idiot". You're paying more attention to it than I think it's worth. I didn't call every Arsenal fan in the country an idiot and couldn't have an opinion. But Wenger, who I have been very critical of in the past from a football point of view, I think he deserves better than that.
The pundit seemed relaxed throughout the interview, offering his honest thoughts on Arsenal
Wenger has come under criticism and says he will manage next season regardless of the club
'Do I regret it? No. I'm quite relaxed about the fact that I say what I think on TV. I could have said: "That Arsenal fan is out of order or I disagree with his opinion". But everyone would have thought that was boring.'
Neville then went on to label Wenger a 'giant of the game', in reference to his incredible success at Highbury and then the Emirates.
Arsenal have won three Premier League titles, six FA Cups and six Community Shields under the Frenchman's guidance, and Neville was unequivocal in his praise.

Neville first defended himself on Twitter, before agreeing to go on Arsenal Fan TV this week
'I think really it's a lack of respect,' he noted. 'He's a giant of the game. If he retired tomorrow, or something happened to him, there would probably be millions of people lining the streets for Arsene Wenger, and what he has achieved.
'Look at the other clubs who are currently below him in the league, who have spent more money and don't get the same abuse. Why do you not protest against the board? Why the manager? He's done his best, hasn't he?
'I do think that fan, who is 25 years of age, may look back in 20, 30 years and might change his mind about his actions on that day.'
