- Stoke return to action against relegation-threatened Crystal Palace this week
Stoke City defender Glen Johnson has played for some of Europe's finest clubs throughout his career, which may be a good indicator that he should perhaps stick to football, not golf.
Taking to the fairways ahead of Stoke's upcoming clash with Crystal Palace, Johnson found himself in a spot of bother when his golf ball wandered well beyond the rough.
Not one to shirk a challenge, Johnson attempted to take on the difficult approach shot at Surrey's Foxhill Golf Club... only to fall flat on his face.

Johnson loses momentum immediately after following through on the shot, losing his footing
The former Liverpool and Chelsea man was taking the chance to unwind with a relaxing 18 holes, but perhaps didn't anticipate his efforts going so wayward.
Taking to Instagram, Johnson uploaded a short video of himself taking on the ambitious shot, his golf ball lodged in difficult terrain among trees, leaves and thick shrubbery.
In the clip Johnson can be seen smiling as he weighs up the near impossible shot, checking his angles before approaching the lay of the ball.
Pushing twigs and brambles aside the full-back laughs as realisation of the difficulty of the shot sinks in.

Swinging through the shot, Johnson immediately saw his footing slip as the ball meekly bounces a few feet away in comical fashion.
As the 32-year-old is sent to the ground his companion filming the action cannot help but laugh aloud.
Johnson shared the clip with his 112,000 followers, captioning the upload: '2nd Hole @ Foxhills might have got the better of me...'
The full-back and Stoke are back in action this weekend when they face Premier League strugglers Crystal Palace, who have something of a crisis on their hands.

Palace were recently humiliated by Sunderland and are now facing a fight to survive
Stoke themselves are without a league win in three games, and will be hoping the vulnerable opposition of Palace can provide an ideal opportunity to get back to winning ways.
Palace will go into the clash on the back of their recent 4-0 home humiliation to fellow relegation candidates Sunderland.
The two sides will meet at the Britannia Stadium for the 3pm kick-off this Saturday (February 11).
