  • Tottenham stars have been enjoying the fine dining of Barcelona this week
  • The North London side jetted off to the Spanish city for a winter training camp
  • Spurs made the trip on the back of their comeback heroics at the Etihad
  • Mauricio Pochettino's men clawed back a two-goal deficit to share the points

Tottenham stars Mousa Dembele, Michel Vorm and Jan Vertonghen spent their weekend celebrating their side's comeback heroics at the Etihad stadium... with some fine dining in Barcelona.

Less than 24 hours after taking a share of the spoils against Manchester City, the Spurs stars were tucking into a gourmet meal in Spain's second-biggest city.

Manager Mauricio Pochettino opted to whisk his men straight off to sunnier shores following the valuable point in Manchester, in order to put Spurs through a quick winter training camp before they return to action against Wycombe Wanderers in the FA Cup on Saturday.

Tottenham’s injured players travelled to continue their rehab there rather than in England in a bid to keep the entirety of Pochettino's squad together.

Every first-team member – except for Erik Lamela, who is still in Rome – flew to Spain after their game against Manchester City on Saturday night.

That included Vertonghen, the defender who suffered ankle ligament damage and is set to be sidelined for as long as 10 weeks.

Tottenham trained at the Olympic Stadium on Monday, where Espanyol played during Pochettino’s three-year stint at the Spanish club.

This is becoming a tradition for Pochettino – it is almost a year to the day that he took his players to Barcelona for warm-weather training in 2016 ahead of their title push.

It gives them new surroundings for training sessions and Pochettino allows his players time off to explore the city too.

Tottenham drew 2-2 at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday and the squad caught a late flight after that fixture.

Taking to social media platform Instagram, Spurs midfielder Dembele opted to share a snap of the trip with his 345,000 followers.

The 29-year-old Belgian uploaded an image showing himself along with compatriot Vertonghen and back-up goalkeeper Michel Vorm seated around a table laden with food.

The Spurs stars appeared happy and relaxed following their stellar performance at the Etihad, as Dembele captioned the snap: 'Lunch in Barcelona with the boys.'

The weekend initially looked as though it would shape up as a terrible one for Spurs, who found themselves two goals behind in Manchester in under an hour, both courtesy of horror defending.

But Pochettino's side showed both their resilience and mettle in coming back from the death to snatch something from the tie - goals from Dele Alli and Son Heung Min ensuring defeat would not be tasted.

The point earned means Spurs currently sit nine adrift of Premier League leaders Chelsea after 22 games played, though only one point behind their bitter North London rivals Arsenal in second place.
