Walter Mazzarri has spoken of the importance of his new signings but may not start them against Arsenal on Saturday.
Daryl Janmaat arrived on Wednesday from Newcastle for £7.5million, shortly after last week's recruitment of Younes Kaboul and club-record signing Roberto Pereyra.
A weakened team lost 2-1 to Gillingham in the EFL Cup on Tuesday, but Mazzarri was sufficiently impressed by his players' performance in Saturday's defeat by Chelsea via the same scoreline, he is considering giving them another chance.

Asked of Janmaat's arrival, the Italian said: 'He is a very important player. He needs to understand what we want from this position.
'I need to evaluate (the new signings). They have just arrived and I need to be sure they know what they need to do.
'They will be there; I'm not sure if they will start or play later. I want to start from the good things we did against Chelsea. It's nearly impossible all three will start.
'I need to take into consideration the XI who played against Chelsea.'

Mazzarri, 54, remains in pursuit of his first victory as manager after a late comeback denied them at the weekend.
The visit of Arsenal is followed by fixtures with West Ham and Manchester United amid a difficult start in English football, and the manager joked he would watch Arsene Wenger's preparations from Watford's training ground next door.
'We will watch them (over the fence) and they will us,' the manager said.
On Matej Vydra, a reported target for Sky Bet Championship Derby, Mazzarri added: 'I have a little input in (his future) but, really, it's the club who decides. I would like to concentrate on this after the game with Arsenal.
'We had a talk (about new signings on Wednesday) and all depends on what happens in the next five days.'
