Antonio Conte's 'simple ideas' will bring success to Chelsea... but he always wants more, warns Italy legend Gianluigi Buffon

Italy goalkeeping legend Gianluigi Buffon has backed Antonio Conte to be a success at Chelsea, but warned Blues players to expect the arrival of a demanding manager.

Conte, who has led an unfancied Italy side into the last 16 of Euro 2016 with two wins from their opening two games, will leave to replace Jose Mourinho at Stamford Bridge after the tournament.

Buffon, who has played under the manager for both Juventus and the national side, explains Conte has a clear vision of the game, but is unlikely to ever be satisfied.

'Conte is a big coach and I'm convinced he will be an excellent one at Chelsea,' said Buffon.

'A Conte team is strong in defence and works constantly, day to day.

'Conte is a coach with an idea very simple.

'For the players he makes it very clear. He wants to play without risk in the defensive line and to exploit the opportunities to score goals when they come.'

'This appears easy but he always wants more. So to go where we want we need to do whatever the coach asks of us.'

Italy secured a second consecutive win with another late goal against Sweden, coming from forward Eder, although Conte seemed more impressed by the swathes of yellow shirts in the stadium - leading the 46-year-old to call for more Azzurri supporters to wear blue.

'Whether our supporters are living in Italy or living elsewhere, I want them to put on a blue shirt,' said Conte. 'When you see everyone in a yellow shirt, it's fantastic.

'Just a blue t-shirt if you want. There were 9,000 [Italian] fans but they were all quite dispersed. I want everyone to be involved.'
