Arsenal have made an improved £1.2million offer for Bolton defender Rob Holding.
The League One side had rejected Arsenal’s opening offer of £750,000 as they value their England Under 21 international at closer to £4million.
Arsenal’s offer would involve additional bonus payments based on appearances for the 20-year-old who has one year left on contract but will not sign a new deal at Bolton.

Meanwhile, Steve Cotterill, Chris Powell and Nigel Adkins are among the frontrunners to become Bolton’s next manager after co-chairman Ken Anderson held interviews on Monday.
Leeds United’s Steve Evans is also under consideration.
Former boss Neil Lennon left the club by mutual consent in March five days after the Sport Shield consortium completed their takeover of the Trotters.
