WHO IS DERMOT DRUMMY?

Drummy was on the books of Arsenal as a young midfielder but never quite made the grade with the Gunners.

After spells with various non-League clubs, he made the step into coaching at Highbury in the late 1990s.

Having helped develop talents such as Jack Wilshere, Cesc Fabregas and Fabrice Muamba, he was poached by Chelsea in 2007.

Drummy left Stamford Bridge, having taken charge of the Blues' hugely successful Under 21 setup, in 2015 in search of a position in senior management.

He has since held talks with Brazilian side Bangu regarding the possibility of him taking over as manager.

'Hopefully I can produce a team that plays attractive football that excites our fans and brings the whole club together - players, supporters and the people who work for the club.

'I can't wait to get started. I'm looking forward to meeting the players and preparing for Saturday's game.'

Drummy joined the coaching staff at Arsenal in 1999 where he helped to develop players such as Cesc Fabregas and Jack Wilshere.

He then moved to Chelsea as under-21 coach in 2007 and led the Blues to a first FA Youth Cup in 40 years.

After a spell as international coach he left Stamford Bridge in January 2015.

Crawley owner Zaya Erin said: 'Dermot will bring top-level experience and vital recruitment knowledge to Crawley Town.
