Arsene Wenger has revealed Jack Wilshere has suffered a setback in his recovery from a fractured ankle as injuries to key players continue to mount for Arsenal.
The England midfielder returned to training midway through last month and was expected by Wenger to be back available after the international break.
However, he has been ruled out of Arsenal’s match against Stoke this weekend and Wenger will meet with club doctors to determine how long he will be out for.

‘I have not seen Jack Wilshere in the last two or three days,’ Wenger said. ‘He is progressing slowly and I can’t tell you much more about it. I will talk with my medical staff today.
'It is slower than expected as I expected him to be back and available after the break but unfortunately he will not be available for Saturday.
'He had a little setback and I have to know about it but I can’t tell you much more as I have no medical information.’
