Arsenal legend Ray Parlour has conceded the time may have come for Arsenal to look for a new manager - but only when Arsene Wenger decides to call it a day.

Wenger's side booked their place in the Champions League knockout stages for a 15th successive season under the Frenchman's guidance following a 2-0 win over Borussia Dortmund.

Despite this their league form has flattered to deceive so far, with the north London side already 15 points behind runaway leaders Chelsea.

Parlour, who was a prominent player under Wenger in the 1990's, believes the 65-year-old will never get sacked, but says the club may need a fresh face to come in to change their identity over the long haul.

He wrote on Sportlobster: 'As long as the club have a plan [for a new manager], I am okay with it.

'If it is better for the club, you do what is right for the club. Nobody is bigger than Arsenal.

'I am biased towards Wenger because I played under him, but his methods now are exactly what we did.

'If the plan is for fresh ideas and the right person becomes available, then it is something to look at. But it is Arsene's decision. He'd never be sacked.'
