'If we get all three points, of course it will be the best time to play them but Spurs have to be patient. They have a new manager and it takes time to bring his ideas into the club. I had a number of managers in my spell at the club, and each of them had their own ideas – some on myself. There are high expectations at Spurs and a lot of pressure. You have to be able to live that.'

The former White Hart Lane skipper has made no secret of what a tough decision it was to leave North London, but now firmly a Hull player he is enjoying life at the KC.

'It was tough and really emotional leaving the club. But the opportunity came to leave and play first-team football, which is all I want to do, play football. I got told that my opportunities at Spurs were going to be less, if any, and that's when Hull came in for me. I spoke to the gaffer, and after seeing what the club achieved last season, and speaking to the lads here I'm really excited and loving it.
