Erik Lamela is setting a trend as Jan Vertonghen attempts Rabona in Tottenham Ball in the Bag Challenge... and hat-trick Harry Kane scores on his first attempt

It has been a fun couple of days for Tottenham Hotspur following their 5-1 Europa League trouncing of Asteras Tripolis at White Hart Lane on Thursday night.

And the good times continued as the Boys in White took a little time out after training on Friday morning to take part in Spurs TV's 'Ball in the Bag Challenge'.

Pick of the bunch was Jan Vertonghen, who not only scored his first attempt to chip a ball into the suspended bag from 12 yards, but followed up with a cheeky Rabona strike - just as his Tottenham team-mate Erik Lamela did the night before

Stepping up first was Harry Kane, whose hat-trick against Asteras on Thursday helped ease Tottenham to victory at White Hart Lane.

With his very first kick, Kane delicately dinked the ball into the hanging basket.

'You've got to take your chances in this game,' the striker said.

And that's exactly what he'll be trying to do under the watchful eye of manager Mauricio Pochettino.

The next big step for Kane is becoming a regular starter in the top flight - having played just 40 minutes in the Premier League so far this term - with Pochettino preferring either Emmanuel Adebayor or Roberto Soldado to start ahead of the Englishman.

‘Obviously the Premier League is the top league in the world and that’s what everyone is watching and that’s where you want to hit your goals,' Kane said on Thursday.

‘But every time I get the chance I have to do what I can, as many goals as I can.’

Back on the training ground on Friday morning, with team-mates Nacer Chadli, Erik Lamela, Luke McGee and Andros Townsend all missing their three attempts, Spurs defender Jan Vertonghen reluctantly placed the ball down. 'There's no point, H (Harry Kane) has already won it,' he groaned.

After a little persuasion from Townsend, Vertonghen took his chance just as well as Kane, this time with a right footed chip down the middle.

Not to be beaten, the Belgium international lined up to take another after claiming, 'I always have to do better.'

In the exact same style used by Lamela the previous night, Vertonghen sent the ball towards the basket with a near-perfect Rabona strike.

Unlike Lamela's it didn't get the desired result. But you can't blame him for trying.
