GARETH BALE is an injury doubt for Real Madrid ahead of their Champions League clash against Tottenham, according to Zinedine Zidane.

Tottenham came away from the Bernabeu with a creditable 1-1 draw against Los Blancos in their group encounter 11 days ago.

Spurs and Real are now the favourites to qualify to the knockout stage from Group H after excellent starts to their respective European campaigns.

Bale sat out the original clash as he continues his recovery from a calf injury, which he picked up last month against Borussia Dortmund.

And Zidane is unsure whether the Welshman will be fit in time to face Spurs at Wembley on November 1.

Zidane said: “Bale is already on the field, almost ready to train with the team, but I can't give you a date for when he'll be back."

Bale posted a video of himself recently on social media doing light ball skills and jogging to get his fitness back up.

The 28-year-old will no doubt relish the chance to face his former club where he became a darling of White Hart Lane.

He was linked with a move to Manchester United over the summer, but recent reports have suggested he would resist Jose Mourinho’s overtures in order to secure a return to north London if the opportunity arose.

Real, who are third in the La Liga table, face Fuenlabrada tomorrow (8.30pm) in the first leg of their last 32 Copa del Rey tie.

After that, they travel to take on Girona in La Liga on Sunday (3.15pm).
