TOTTENHAM are a better team as it stands than Manchester United, according to ESPN pundit Stewart Robson.

Stewart Robson: Spurs are Man City's closest title challengers

Tottenham’s 4-1 victory over Liverpool on Sunday and Manchester United’s 2-1 defeat to Huddersfield 24 hours earlier has brought the two sides level on 20 points.

They are currently five points behind leaders Manchester City and go head-to-head at Old Trafford this Saturday (12.30pm).

Robson says recent results for Spurs and United has changed his mind on who will be the closest challengers to City for the title this term.

“Two weeks ago I would have said Manchester United had a chance of winning the Premier League title,” he said.

“But a couple of defensive performances, a very good defensive performance against Liverpool but not a good performance overall, then they don’t play well against Huddersfield, problems with Mourinho having a go at his players.

“Tottenham who they were talking about not doing particularly well at Wembley thrash Liverpool and play really, really well.

“So at the moment I think Tottenham look like the team that can really challenge Manchester City.

“They’ve got I think a better all-round game, I think several of their players are more consistent than the Manchester United players.
