Wilshere update

14:30: Jack Wilshere is reportedly prepared to move away from Arsenal to bolster his chances of making England’s World Cup squad.

The 25-year-old, who spent last season on loan at Bournemouth, has had his career blighted by injuries, and he has been restricted to just 17 games in two seasons for the Gunners.

This term, Wilshere has been predominantly been used in the cup competitions by Arsene Wenger.

Recent reports have linked the midfielder with a move to Turkish outfit Trabzonspor.

And now according to The Times, Wilshere is giving serious thought to his Emirates future with a World Cup next summer.

Only Man Utd, City and Chelsea can win league - Carragher

14:00: Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger was right to say finishing in the top four is an achievement, according to pundit Jamie Carragher.

Wenger has often been criticised for saying Champions League qualification for his Arsenal side was like winning a trophy.

But Carragher says the competition at the top of the Premier League has made doing so much harder, and reckons the title will go to one of the three biggest spenders this season, in Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea.

“We’ve always criticised Arsene Wenger for saying top four was an achievement,” Jamie Carragher told The Telegraph’s Total Football podcast.

“I think top four is an achievement now, certainly for Tottenham, Liverpool, Arsenal.

“There was always Arsenal and Manchester United going for the league and it would be us or Leeds, us or Newcastle, or Chelsea, trying to get the last two positions for the top four really.”

Marseille keen on Perez

13:00: Marseille are still interested in signing Arsenal outcast Lucas Perez.

Perez, 29, was expected to leave the Emirates on a permanent basis over the summer after struggling to break into Arsene Wenger’s starting XI.

Nobody was willing to meet Arsenal’s £17million valuation and he was forced to settle for a season-long loan with Deportivo La Coruna instead.

However, French publication Le10Sport claim Marseille remain interested and are already plotting a bid in January.

Arsenal favourites to sign Martial

12:00: Arsenal have emerged as favourites with the bookies to sign Manchester United forward Anthony Martial in January.

Arsenal were linked with a January move for Martial over the weekend as Gunners manager Arsene Wenger looks to replace Alexis Sanchez, who is out of contract at the end of the season.

The France international has started just four games across all competitions this term, but has still impressed with five goals and six assists.

And bookmakers Betfair have responded by pricing Arsenal as 8/1 favourites to sign the 22-year-old when the transfer window reopens in January.

The Gunners are just ahead of north London rivals Tottenham, who are at odds of 10/1.

Juve eye Giroud

11:05: Juventus want to pair Gonzalo Higuain with Arsenal star Olivier Giroud, reports claim.

According to Italian website Calciomercato, Juve chiefs think Giroud could be a useful addition to the squad, who would be eligible for the Champions League.

No official offer has been made, but it’s thought club executives are actively discussing a January swoop.

Sanchez to the Etihad?

10:15: Arsenal's Alexis Sanchez could be heading for Manchester City in the new year, the Daily Telegraph says.

After a £60million bid failed during the summer, Pep Guardiola still appears determined to bring the forward to the north-west.

Sanchez's deal with the Gunners runs out in June but City look prepared to make a cash offer to see the deal through in January.

Blues eyeing Boakye

09:15: Chelsea are monitoring the Red Star Belgrade talent Richmond Boakye, reports claim.

According to GhanaSoccernet, Antonio Conte has requested that Chelsea’s recruitment team watch the 24-year-old, who’s netted 10 goals in 16 appearances this season.

Conte was Juventus manager during Boakye’s two-year spell in Turin, but never utilised the Ghana international.

It’s understood that Chelsea will send scouts to watch the striker against Arsenal in the Europa League when the two sides meet on October 19 and November 2.

Sanchez wants Real Madrid switch

08:00: Alexis Sanchez has reportedly dealt Barcelona a huge blow by insisting he wants to move to their arch-rivals Real Madrid.

Sanchez looks set to leave Arsenal before the end of the season with a number of Europe's elite clubs after his signature.

Barcelona have been rumoured to be interested in re-signing the Chile international, who left the Nou Camp to join Arsenal in 2014, but the La Liga giants could face competition from their league rivals.

Spanish outlet Diario Gol claim Sanchez has made it clear to Real Madrid he would be open to joining up with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo at the Bernabeu.

But the report goes on to say Zinedine Zidane is against the idea of bringing the 28-year-old to the Spanish capital.

Sanchez like Ronaldo and Messi claim

07:00: Alexis Sanchez is not far from achieving the same level as Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

He has been Arsenal’s top scorer in two of his three seasons at the Emirates but his career in north London looks likely to be coming to an end.

He hasn’t found his shooting boots for Arsenal so far this season, scoring just one goal in seven appearances.

But Marino believes once Sanchez starts scoring in excess of 30 goals per season on a regular basis, he should be regarded on the same level as Messi and Ronaldo.

“Personally, I think he could score more than 35 goals a season in any league he plays in,” Marino told IBTimes. “If he succeeded in doing that, he would be at the same level as two monsters of the modern game: Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

“Nowadays only those two, and maybe Zlatan Ibrahimović, can claim to be better than Alexis.”

Ozil transfer latest

06:00: Mesut Ozil could be forced to settle for £250,000-a-week at Arsenal, according to reports.

The Gunners have already offered him a £250,000-a-week new deal to extend his stay at the Emirates.

But the Germany international rejected their proposal as he wants £330,000-a-week.

Manchester United, Inter Milan and Besiktas have been heavily linked with a move for Ozil.

However, the Sun claim no club are willing to meet his mammoth wage demands even though he could become a free agent next summer.
