Arsenal news: David Ospina commits double blunder as Alexis Sanchez rescues Chile - video

ARSENAL goalkeeper David Ospina made two awful mistakes in three minutes to gift Paraguay a 2-1 win over Colombia.

Colombia gets defeated by Paraguay in World Cup Qualifiers

After Radamel Falcao’s 78th minute goal, Colombia looked set to seal a place in the 2018 World Cup finals in Russia.

But with two minutes remaining, Ospina dropped the ball from a long free kick and after a scramble, striker Oscar Cardozo fired home.

Then in stoppage time, Ospina blundered again when he failed to hold onto a cross in the box and that allowed Antonio Sanabria to score and steal all three points.

It means with one game to go, Colombia are fourth on 26 points with Paraguay on 24.

Ospina’s Arsenal team-mate Alexis Sanchez also looked set for disappointment with Chile when Romario Ibarra scored an 84th minute equaliser for Ecuador.

However two minutes later, the Arsenal attacker tapped into an empty net to put Chile 2-1 ahead and move them into third-place.

Chile’s World Cup fate will be decided on Tuesday with another win needed over Brazil to guarantee their place for next summer.

In the 10-team South American qualifying group, the top four teams qualify automatically for Russia with the fifth-placed side due to play New Zealand in a two-legged play-off.
