Steve Nicol: Jurgen Klopp could be sacked next season
That is the view of pundit and legendary Liverpool defender Steve Nicol.
Nicol does not think Klopp will get the axe if his side finish outside the top four this season.
But reckons he will get the boot if he repeats that disappointment in the following campaign.
“No (he shouldn’t get sacked at the end of the season),” Nicol said on ESPN FC.

“Yes (I’d give him 18 months).”
Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool have come under severe criticism this season, especially with their performances in defence.
The German manager failed to bring in a new centre-back in the summer transfer window after a move for Southampton’s Virgil van Dijk fell through.

Nicol believes Liverpool have improved attacking-wise since Brendan Rodgers left in 2015.
But says defensively they are no better than they were two years ago.
“How many times have I said this?” Nicol added.
“Going forward yes (they have improved). No question. Defensively no.”
Liverpool's next game after the international break is against rivals Manchester United on October 14 (12.30pm).
